I don't understand this argument at all from people who believe in a god and an afterlife. It completely presupposes there is (1) an afterlife and I guess (2) a soul. If there is no afterlife and no soul I don't get how anything is supposed to be revealed to me. I would not claim evolution is a far-fetched theory. It is a rather remarkable one, and one of the best-supported scientific theories we have.

Anthro- courses would not really suffice much to learn about evolution directly. Most colleges teach evolution as a mid-level biology course. I never got that far, but did audit the class more than once when my wife was getting her biology degree, simply because it was interesting.

What really got me to learn more though, is arguing with creationists, and evaluating their claims against evidence, which I have been doing, off and on, for more than 20 years.
