He wasn't shitty, I'll give him that but otherwise Klay missed a bunch of shots when he posted him up.

Sure, you can dislike the "softness" of today's game, but today's game requires much more skill and strategy than ever..ball movement and systems are much more important in today's game, tbh..

The 80s and 90s had a lot of goon players that would have no chance to make it to the league if they were required to play with the same skill, strategy and ball movement of today's league, rather than just committing hard fouls and being tall like they did in their own era:lol..
:lol tearing down the 80s with goon talk when this niglet grts shut down by Parker.

:lol so much more skill
:lol chucking 35 footers

This year's Spurs have a far, far, faaaaarrr better defense than anything from the 80s:lol

25% of the 80s NBA players were White American athletes..a league full of Jimmer Fredettes..

The league having a down year at the bottom doesn't really mean anything, every era has them(the 90s had several)..

I assume you weren't a Lakers fan in the 80s, but have you seen Magic's West competition during that entire decade?:lmao..there was 1 year in particular where the best team the Lakers played against had something like 42 wins:lol

It was 1987. They played a 37 win Nuggets team in the first, a 42 win Warriors team in the second, and a 39 win Sonics team in the WCF. Also in the second round scrub ass Sleepy Floyd dropped 51 points on Magic in a game. :lol

Curry might have made all star teams ala Isiah and Dumars; but he sure as fuck wouldn't be averaging 30 in a league that didn't play like pussies.

I have no doubt if you switched the Celtics and Lakers conferences, the Celtics have 5 rings and the Lakers 3 in the 1980s.

Like .04 nothing came of Eric Floyd's 51 points. We brought the Celtics out to the coast & left them there...dead in the ground.

Some of these cats are dumb ...

1. When was Magic ever defending the other team's best player? Sure, Magic got some of that 51 ...but so did Coop, Byron etc.
2. Although no superstar Sleepy made at least one ASG (and I think a couple IIRC) and was streaky good scorer. In college back when college hoops were legit he was a major star at Georgetown as well

some of y'all need to brush up on your hoops history.

at about 13:30 the GSW announcer with a great call "Micheal cooper one the greatest defensive players in this game is useless he can't STOP him!!!"

A couple notes after seeing this video ... (saw the game as a kid)

Byron had 28 points
Kareem 25 ...
That was one of the worst defensive games I ever Coop play ...Floyd was hot ...but Coops close-outs were horrible.
Riles vs. George Karl
Klay's daddy ...

great comeback mostly by one man ...

That Gstate team had a couple of good players but no way should the Lakers lose to that team.

It doesn't change the fact that he went off on the Lakers for 51 points, it's arguable that "sleepy" floyd would even be a rotation player in today's league. 80's/90's basketball is insanely overrated :lol. Guys like Curry and Westbrook wouldn't make it but "sleepy floyd" could lol.

Sleepy Floyd was streaky (ie inconsistent). He'd have 32 points a game then 4 the next. He's really quick and has decent handles but his outside shot was all over the place.

He likely won't be relied upon in today's game to win or lose a series, but he'd be a great sixth man when he's hot. Reminds Me a little of lance Stephenson without the crazy

But, it led to nothing. For the 2nd time in 3 years we stepped on & over the Celtics for our...I don't know some # NBA Title. It was made a big deal then, and now nigh on 30 years later because that's all they had then. Now? I can't account for it. I do know that the Pistons were waitin' and Riley's guarantee that we'd do it again was accurate...
