Not basing this on stats; just the eye test. He was confident and wanted the ball from start to finish. He was dominant down low; and his shot was falling. And he was strong on the boards at both sides of the court. Even his defense was solid. I don't remember much in the way of lapses or otherwise things he could have done better.

He's got something. And proved he's not some prima donna that doesn't show up in big games.

As I said in the game thread, even though Curry got by him several times, I was impressed how mobile he was on the perimeter when he got switched onto Curry. He did well for a big out there. Remember this was a guy who the knock on him in Portland was his defense. He's come a long way on that side of the ball.

He was great, though I thought he settled for long fadeaways a couple times. No doubt he played like a Man within 5 feet of the hoop.

Blazer LMA who is far more committed on defense.

I'm still amazed at how well undersized Draymond guards him though. Had him losing the ball at times. I was super proud of LMA when he had him pinned deep and punished him with one dribble and scored. I was pumped after that! That's what he needs to do in transition every time imo.

Agree. He showed more grit and toughness than he ever has as a Spur. I do hate the fadeaways, though.

Wasn't ultra efficient but probably my favorite LMA game of the season tbh. He didn't back down.....

He missed a ton of chippies and fumbled the ball away in the post a number of times.

"Best game" is a stretch. He was solid enough though.

looked to me like he couldn't back down even an inch on Green and Barns and whoever guarded him, and was always taking fadeaways

I would categorize it as a solid game.

LMA is comfortable with the long 2 and good at it. He's not Dirk-like but if you leave him open out there he's going to make you pay.

They won't change their strategy IMO..they have been routinely destroyed by opposing PFs/bigs, this season IIRC, it's something they seem to live with..

Which is why the Spurs are the perfect team to handle the Dubs :toast

What I was most impressed with is his positioning.

He was always in position to get the offensive rebound, simply bullied Green tonight.

LMA is our primary key in the playoffs offensively

in the same vein that leonard is our primary key defensively

Lamarcus since the new year, and particularly this 5 game home stand, has been everything I had ever wanted from Lamarcus when we signed him. There are obviously many factors contributing to us being a better team than last year, but bottom line is he took us from possibly slipping from title contention with the big 3 being too old to right in the middle of the championship picture. Obviously this was just a regular season game, but he has shown me enough that I believe his "not coming up big in big games" knock was more of him just being uncomfortable on the new team and not a knock on whether he could handle the pressure. If he plays this way throughout the playoffs, it should be a good year :toast

Big ups to LMA. Took all the criticism and just worked his A## off and now I have to give him his just due. I look forward to seeing here long term, dude seems like he is solid as far as character goes also.

I was glad to see his competitive spirit in this game especially after Draymond's post game comments from the earlier loss to the Warriors. I loved how he went at Draymond aggressively on the offensive end and rebounds.

Pop should probably run a couple of high-low sets to make that possible b/c the Spurs don't throw the ball into the post until the offense is set otherwise the spacing would be screwed up.

Mozgov destroyed Draymond in Gm 4 of the Finals when Kerry decided to start him at center but Iggy made him pay on the other end.

He still get intimidated by Draymond's shadow and breath, still missing bunnies, rushing things and get out of control because of it...

I think he played great, but it's pretty clear that he had a terrible shooting night. He's the best midrange shooter in the league for the last four years, and he went 3-13 from ten feet out. He managed to find ways to help the team win, as he was a man on the boards and his defense was stout from start to finish.

kobyz
03-20-2016, 11:30 AM
Also he's like giving up on passes throwing to him just cause they are not the most clean passes, i think he should give more hustle to try control them instead of making them turnovers...

He could be better. There were times when he was less decisive and times when his body language wasnt great....but he got it back. He needs to be focused like the good Aldridge was, ALL THE TIME.

LMA inside game has improved this season but still lacks some killer moves like Splitter had. Timmy needs to continue to work with LMA on a drop stop and up and under moves.

He still get intimidated by Draymond's shadow and breath, still missing bunnies, rushing things and get out of control because of it...Exactly. Saw him post up and take too long to make a move and then get stripped. Another time he made an off balance fadeaway that looked terrible. But then I saw him be really decisive and man handle his defender. Dont want to be a part of this Kawhi vs LMA argument but LMA needs to be more like KL in how KL seems to be super focused all the time. Theres ALWAYS an opportunity to affect the game in a positive way for the Spurs. Defending, screens, rebounds, offensive rebounds.

Might wanna check the box score, because Aldridge took better care of the ball and had fewer fouls. Aldridge looked more mentally prepared for this game than Kawhi did.

I told yall that he just needs to get the ball and go to work. Stop all of that pump faking and holding the ball. Just get it and put draymond green's little ass under the basket. He killed him, as he always have in portland.

u mean the same Splitter that has been blocked at the rim more than any other center in the league? The same splitter that wants to lay the ball in instead of dunking it? That splitter, or is there a different one in the league?
