View Full Version : Draymond: "I think they had a better game, but If they took advantage of their size..

...I'm not sure they only win by 8."

I hate when fans, media and players say "only win by". Winning and Losing is binary and the threshold is (1) point. I do like the point differential statistic as a long term measure when given a large data set but individual games have too many specific factors to use "only win by" as a moral victory.

He wasn't talking about a moral victory. He was saying he was glad it wasn't a worse beating.

This guy and there whole team are allowed to hack more than any other team I've seen. Its laughable to see Kerr and Draymond complain as much as they do.

That's what he learned from Phil.

Not sure if that was what he meant. I think it was more that the Spurs didn't play as well as they should have. I watched the post game interview with him, and he said something like, "[Spurs] played better than the last time, but that really shouldn't have been hard." Passive-aggressive jab is like a second nature to him. He's an auto-pilot jabber.

To me this is Draymond acknowledging that the Spurs didn't play a great game (on offense?) either.

I have no respect for this guy's game. This guy is a glorified role player that benefits from playing on the flashiest team in the league and therefore is allowed to get favored treatment from the refs. If he played on an average NBA team he would be getting called for hacking and hand checking on every possession. If you watched the game notice how he's allowed to stick his elbow in LMA's back or is allowed to put two hands on LMA every time he catches the ball.

Sore loser. When the top two teams in the NBA meet, and the defense is that intense, it will be a close game. Draymond thinks because the warriors blew out the spurs by 30 last time that it will always be like that. He thought they could easily guard Aldridge and Diaw. Remember when Draymond said the PF and big men were dinosaurs and extinct in the new NBA.

I think he has a lot of insecurities about his height at his position. He has Napoleon complex at the PF spot. I remember the feud he started with Hassan Whiteside on Twitter randomly during the summer because Hassan said this "Small ball only works on centers that can't score #factsonly I wish you would put Someone that 6'6 on me #careerhigh #highschooldays."

Hes a great player and is a top 5-10 player in the league imo. severely underrated, dpoy level defense and point forward/runs the offense. Hes what? 90% of the defense of Kawhi, 80% the shooter, and 200% the playmaker of Kawhi. If it wasnt for the personality issue, id happily trade anyone not named Kawhi for him.

He's not 80% the shooter of Kawhi, and Kawhi's playmaking has gotten significantly better. 200% is an exaggeration.

Exactly. He ain't dumb. He knows the growing moving screen rep they have. That outburst was over the top on purpose and early to squash that shit now before the playoffs start.

So, what he's saying is that if and when we do take advantage of our size, we're going to destroy them? That or he thinks he's 7' 1".

He's saying we should have won by more because of them being shorthanded in size and players.

It's a slight at the win.

Remember Draymond was the one who said last year, if he was a 7 footer he would be Anthony Davis lmao

Well, maybe not Davis, but if he was 7 feet and had the same mobility that he has now he would be in the MVP conversation. And he would still wish he could be 7' 3" so that he would be Shaq.

I just t hink he has a smirky attitude and he's tempermental and loud and much like a bully type, but he has game, he has great passing skills and is an excellent position defender who uses his hands and feet to neutralize much bigger opponents.

He does a great job at checking him. It's just that LMA is back in his Portland form and can often completely disregard great defense.

He did have meltdowns last year against the Grizz and Cavs when the Warriors were down 2-1. David Lee is the one who bailed his ass out in those situations.

He's a low key headcase behind all that bluster and cockyiness..Obviously winning tend to cover that--as it did with Artest on the Lakers team-- but between Klay certified playoff "choke gene" and Raymond potentially flipping out at critical juncture (he has low-level tension with Kerr), there are few intangibles that might break our way and tilt the series in our favor..It is always not all about basketball Xs & Os in vacuum :lol..

LMA couldn't do anything but shoot those hard looking fade aways in the high post. Green did a great job there, though he was owed in the low post.
