Gives new meaning to what it means to be a garbage time big.

Is he really a keeper?

I don't know clearly there are issues on defense thus why Pop doesn't play him, but boy is he a talented offensive player.
He may be a bench rotation big IMO. Hopefully he can improve. Baynes didn't look like much, but he needed time to improve on defense, hopefully Boban does too.

We shall see if we can keep him. I think other teams will want him.

I noticed tonight he is running a lot smoother. His upper body is straight up and down and not leaning forward when he runs , like when soneone has a bad back. Not as stiff.
They must have him sitting in the hot tub / whirlpool for heat treatment.
He really looks a lot better with his movement .

Boban at 19pts, needs a basket... Fat head tells him to fuck off and bricks an 18 footer.

Couldve had 20 :pctoss:

Boban, he say, no like Austin.

That little left-handed shot, where he got the ball and went straight at Whiteside, was a thing of beauty.

There was an early play where he should have thrown it down, and instead he hesitated and tried to put it on the glass - he looked like the Boban we've seen lately.

I think he's just been thinking too much lately, instead of playing loose. Like he really wants to do all the things they've been trying to teach him. You can't play any sport if you have to think about it as you're doing it. When he plays like this, you can at least picture him getting some minutes off the bench. He's hell on a second unit, when he's on his game.

At this point he is very enigmatic. He plays poorly a game or two, gets shipped to the D-league and I think he would not be missed if we let him go. Then he beasts like tonight and I am, like... :wow

In an era of PnR and small-ball basketball, I am extremely ambivalent. I just don't know.

They can't stop him.

The problem is he can't stop them either. You got it right. (and 3s worth more than 2s... that may be destroying the game in the end).

Obviously in garbage time they go to him almost every time down the floor, which plays to his strengths, bc he can pass too. In a real lineup though, when he has to play with and off other people, it gets a bit jumbled up bc he floats around, not really setting screens, more like dancing in space since he's so big. I remember it all. Including the slow defensive rotations and troubles boxing out and grabbing rebounds. Also, picking up guys in the perimeter and in switches it's a tremendous mismatch for him, has to play close to the basket.

Bottom line, I got you, it's an enigma.

You shouldn't show your intelligence. It is intimidating to the boys club here.

He has been thinking too much b/c he's trying not to get yelled at by :pop:.

They can't stop him. The problem is he can't stop them either.

You can say the same for Kanter who actually has the tools to be a decent defender but has ZERO defensive awareness.:lol

he is a main reason the Spurs have built a +12 point differential during the season..

Yep, his niche is basically a garbage time specialist who keeps the opposition at bay & allows the starters to rest with ice pack on their knees.

What's the difference with last game from any game? Dude beasts on garbage time, well played. But he wont play a single important minute in the playoffs this season.
