Not sure if any of you all, other than Wild Cobra have played this.

I like space and (mostly) realistic physics. This lets you play NASA for little green men/women, one of the in-jokes.

You get points/money for scientific achievements, and get to experiment with all sorts of cool rockets (and planes). Just try not to get your astronauts killed.

I've been out of the loop for a few months, due to computer problems, but should be back up and trying to master orbital mechanics in no time.

I'll try to post some of my creations as screen caps.

If you wish to try everything from the start, select "sandbox" mode. You don't have to worry about money, missions, etc. and you have all parts to play with.

Here are a few of my launches, as albums in IMGUR.

This first example, was from a challenge in the KSP forum. To launch a huge space station in a single launch, with enough escape vehicles for all the population:

Low part count to the Mun orbit challenge:

This was a mass challenge for a Mun landing. I made a lander, used three tankers in Kerbin orbit to fill it back up, sent it to the Mun orbit, sent two more tankers to fill it up again, then landed on the Mun. After finishing that challenge, it was equipped with drills and ore converters. i processed or to fill it again, put it back in munar orbit, and landed and drilled in another location yet:

As built, in the VAB:

To the mun, and fourth tanker:

Last refueling tanker:

Landing on the Mun:

After filling up with converted ore on the Mun, went back to munar orbit and filled one tanker up, and partially filled the other in orbit:

Looks like I didn't take snapshots of my munar liftoff, or 2nd landing, but at both landing sites, I picked up the Kerbals that surveyed the two ore mining areas. here is the first landing site where I picked up the crew:

I have been doing the career mode. That shit is hard.

Still on hiatus because the laptop bought it.

Dang. Some of that stuff is really massive, and makes me want to try the sandbox mode. Argh. Can't wait until my new system gets up and running.

You can have another save game file. Just call it "Sandbox."

Today, when I opened the program, if downloaded the 1.1 version, and it uses Unity 5 and 64 bit instead of 32 bit. It's a huge improvement, but the struts aren't as strong. Far less lag for those multi-hundred part craft. I don't think my computer lags until I exceed about 500 parts now. The last craft I launched with over 900 parts was only between 1/2 to 1/3rd speed. It used to be around 1/8th speed or slower

I had to add more struts to this large tankers. It would fall apart on the launchpad.

Yes, career mode takes time. If you make a small rover with science experiments and go to each building and conduct science, it goes a bit faster. I stopped my career mode save file because I like doing the challenges people come up with.
