Since I work at home doing game programming I normally run a stream to listen to woai radio. They just said this is our new time. I think it's dumb not to let your customers know what's going on with Jeff Bolton. He was very well liked by many people.. well not to turn it political you know maybe half the people liked half hated.

What's neat about Jason and Rob is they have a good balance and temperment on issues.

Jeff was cool. He just didn't like confrontation. They went to a complete opposite after Booms.

Like I said tthough, Jeff was cool, but he wouldn't disagree with him until after they hung up.

Kiss! To Jeff Bolton, WOAI's 4 p.m. talk show host, for not being satisfied to stay put in his S.A. studio when there were so many more real-people stories in New Orleans. After sleeping only 10 hours in three days, he returned home Monday from the post-hurricane mission.

He started driving right after his show Friday. He got the OK to be embedded with the Treasury Department and National Guard. He said he witnessed "the craziest dichotomy." He saw law enforcement officers keep order by catching bad guys as well as performing rescues from the floodwaters. He said the main goal of the Treasury and National Guard was to retrieve money in the Federal Reserve before thieves could get to it.

My radio days are almost gone. I even stopped tunng in to the KTSA show,
These radio stations treat listeners like shit, They act like they are your friend they want you to buy the stuff from their sponsors and you tune in to support the show on a daily basis, and then BANG!, someone is not on the show anymore and they act like nothing happned,

They act like the listeners are morons, What do they think that we are just going to say Oh well I don't hear Mr Bolton on the radio today maybe he will be on next week ,

Look at Ruben The Bone Hernadez he was doing the KTSA show with chris Duel and then BANG! he does not show up for a week, Folks at CD's website have to beg for answers, Then Chris Dules makes a posts saying

http://p078.ezboard.com/f550undergroundfrm7.showMessage?topicID=6616.topic

There have been inquiries here as to what happened to Ruben on the radio show.

I've been busier than usual with Hurricane Rita coverage, etc. and was unable to respond here sooner. Sorry it's taken me awhile.

Ruben is no longer with the show full time. He is currently pursuing other opportunities.

I am Ruben's biggest fan. He's an amazing talent and one of my best friends. I personally chose him to join me at KTSA in July 2004.

There is no doubt in my mind that Ruben will emerge on-air again and provide his creative, fun and thoughtful takes to his hometown. Many people in this community now know Ruben and his unique on-air persona.

I have asked Ruben to continue to be a contributor to the show and I hope he will do so. He is funny, fearless and insightful. I am so grateful for everything he brought to the show over the past 15 months.

Ruben is more than a friend to me, he is like a brother, and I wish him all the great success he deserves.

Chris

I don't know how someone is that busy that they can't tell folks the first day thier co host is not going to be working with them anymore. That post took maybe 4 minutes to make , Don't get me wrong I like Chris Duel but He always would say he would never hide things from his listeners, The first day he did his radio show he let the listeners ask questions on Carl Wigglesworth, Why do radio stations treat you guys like sheep I will never know, all I know is now that I don't tune in I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Like Jay Howard , BANG! I am gone also.

Ps: I may call in to some national shows when the Spurs choke this season just to stirr the pot, and I might call the Spurs after game show if Kori ever steps up to the plate and does a show,

Yes it's called FEMA.

Your one to talk ,I bet if you went to work and the boss never showed up you would have questions also, How about if coach Pop just POOF! never showed up for anymore games? are you that easy going?

The radio stations can at least say " so and so will not be with us this week for person reasons" , they can lie if they want, that is not the point, the point is they act like noting happened,

oh BTW since you know so much what was the reason for Jay Howard, jason penny, and chuck Booms, leaving?

Funny how other news stations will report anything bad as long as it's not about their station, case in point, The Jerry Grant (local news anchor) child porn report was on 2 of the 3 stations here in town I will give you one guess on which station did not do the report,

I highly doubt it had anything to do with legalities. I just mean that out of privacy to the person. And hours after whatever goes down, they're probably not going to go public to 38 states and 3 countries with it. It is what it is. It'll blow over.

Regardless, the Thompsons are drive-time, now. I understand their numbers were pretty good for PTSA. Hopefully it'll help the stations.

They new guy is 21 lol..

While lots of pundits claim to know (and care) what's in the hearts and minds of America's youth, Ben Ferguson IS America's youth. At 21 years old, Ben is the youngest nationally syndicated talk show host in the country.

Ben blends a mix of pop culture, politics and current events in an entertaining and informative way, debating the news of the week from a college-age perspective, while incorporating prominent guests from the political, entertainment, and business worlds.

This caller driven program provides a forum for the vastly under served younger audience of 20 and 30 year olds who care about politics and current events as well as music, movies and sports. Ben's good humored but conservative approach separates this program from the pack of shows aimed at driving ratings through "locker room" humor and stupid stunts. The market of young men and women is not being effectively reached on talk radio today. The Ben Ferguson Show provides a forum for traditional talk stations to reach those listeners and creates a venue for its advertisers that are trying to reach an educated younger audience.

The War on Terror and in Iraq have increased demand among young listeners for substantive, news based programming. The Ben Ferguson Show offers an opportunity to reach those young men and women that are hungry for talk radio that speaks directly to them.

Ben has hosted talk radio programs since he was 13 years old and he has been interviewed by the New York Times, Time Magazine, Rolling Stone, and The Chicago Tribune, in addition to appearances on numerous television programs including CNN's Talk Back Live, Fox News Channel's O'Reilly Factor. ABC's Good Morning America and HBO's Dennis Miller Live.

Ben broadcasts live every Sunday 8:00-10:00 PM EST from the WREC studios on historic Beale Street in Memphis and is syndicated across the country on the Radio America network.

What people are saying about Ben:

"Cocky" - LA Weekly

"Impressive, informative and entertaining"-- MTV

"He's a natural." - The Chicago Tribune

"Ben has all the qualities of a great talk show host. He's smart, funny, and knows how to talk to his audience."
- Nate Lundy, Program Director, WREC.

That was after it was made public, They knew about it before anyone else, and even then the program director got in trouble with his boss after it aired.
They did not say anything until the next day, by that time it was on all the stations, But I am all for them not saying anything, Who needs to know about someone's personal life? I don't want to hear that Babe Ruth used to wear girls panties,

If you read Chris Duels reason for Bone leaving , there is nothing there that was
damaging to report,, So why wait till you have 5 topics at your website? why does WOAI hide the truth? Out of jason Penny, Jay Howard, Chuckie Booms, Chris Duel, Carl Wigglesworth, Johnny Bottom-line. Dusty Garza, and Greg More just all happen to have same TOP SECRET resaosns for not being at work the next day? Wow what are the chances of that?

Where In The World Is Jeff Bolton?
SAL Staff

Popular PM radio host Jeff Bolton has vanished from his afternoon time slot on WOAI, apparently replaced by Shawn Hannity's national talk show and sports talk with the Thompson Brothers; and so far only an email sent to employees has surfaced, announcing the shakeup in the lineup but neglecting to explain the change.

Bolton and WOAI executives have not responded to questions about the situation.

Jeanne Jakle: Radio talk shake-up shakes out
Web Posted: 09/29/2005 12:00 AM CDT

San Antonio Express-News

http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/columnists/jjackle/stories/MYSA092905.5P.jakle.14d412c5.html

Two San Antonio radio talk show personalities, including the only Mexican American on a local all-gab program, have disappeared — poof — into thin airwaves.

Concerned listeners want to know why.

Jeff Bolton, the politically conservative, 4-to-7 p.m. afternoon man on WOAI for 11/2 years, suddenly, with no warning, was axed from the schedule on Tuesday. WOAI program director Nate Lundy said the move was part of a plan to go for "ratings goals we weren't quite hitting."

The new "drive-home shift" will be 5 to 8 p.m. That will be helmed by the more-varied Thompson brothers, who grew up in San Antonio and had been handling the later evening shift previous to this week.

The change also accommodates the increase in air time given to right-wing syndicated host Sean Hannity, who also does a show on the Fox News Channel. Hannity now pontificates for three hours, instead of two, from 2 to 5 p.m.

On competitor KTSA, listeners have noticed another afternoon change. Chris Duel now hosts the 4-to-7 p.m. show solo, minus his sidekick Ruben "The Bone" Hernandez. The absence of Hernandez, who was invited to join Duel from the onset of his new show on KTSA in July of last year, also leaves a gap that is glaring in a city like San Antonio.

He was the first Hispanic — Hernandez prefers, however, to be called "an American of Mexican descent" — to essentially co-host an all-talk program on gab radio in this town, even though the S.A. population is dominated by Hispanics.

Reid Reker, KTSA's general manager, said Hernandez's regular role was cut to put the spotlight squarely on Duel. "We wanted more of Chris," he said. "He's so talented, we wanted to see his star shine."

Ironically, rival WOAI took the opposite route; the station now has gone tandem during late-afternoon drive.

Lundy said listeners constantly compliment the team of Rob and Jason Thompson, who have helmed the 7-to-10 p.m. show on WOAI since mid-summer, as being highly entertaining. While Bolton's show focused heavily on political talk, the Thompsons agree and spar about a bigger variety of topics — news, entertainment, lifestyle issues and, naturally, sports. The two were best-known, until recently, for their banter on WOAI's sports arm, The Ticket, 760 AM.

Judging by my numerous e-mails from Bolton fans, listeners already miss the outspoken talk host. One woman even wrote that if WOAI has cut Bolton, the station has lost a listener.

Bolton couldn't be reached for comment. Lundy, who snapped him up from a Clear Channel station in Omaha, Neb., in February of last year, said he believes the talented talk host will do well in any future venture.

Meanwhile, listeners also are mourning KTSA's Hernandez. Born and reared in San Antonio, "The Bone," as listeners knew him, characterized his cut as a business decision. He said the radio suits like "to line their pockets with a little more gold."

He also wondered if some people just couldn't take "a Mexican with an attitude."

He said he'll be eternally grateful to his friend Duel, whom he's known since his stand-up comic days, for giving him his first real shot at radio. Hernandez, who was never afraid to speak his mind on any issue — and who was an effective partner for the more even-keeled Duel — said he'd love to stay in the talk-radio biz. That is, he quipped, if "someone is crazy enough to hire a Mexican with an opinion."

That's why Peter Burns and Kori or David Chancelor would be perfect, You will get up to the minute info from Spurs to fantasy NFL, If I wanted to talk about your favorite lunch box? I could just tune into Jeff Vexlers show from 4-7.

As a listener, I've always been a fan of the Thompson Bros.

Keep in mind that from 9:00 to 5:00 WOAI is all political talk.
It's nice to have a little change starting at 5:00.

Sucks about Bolton, I thought he was good, and he brought a lot of great shows to the station. (Live from the Middle East, Thailand, New Orleans....Etc). As cool as it would be to have a knock-em out, he kicked someone's ass story about Bolton not being here. There's just nothing to it.

Just a move that was made.

Parker is a badass. This guy is pure San Antonio. Like him or not, you can't not respect him.

Of course I drink the kool-aid because I work for the station, but I really like the lineup changes. And the listener feedback has been really good.

And your just judging him because he's white and fat... that's bigotry...

Mc Fly ! Mc Fly ! Start on page one and read all the posts, It's about the Radio It's what we hear not what we see, The fat 40 year old redneck did not come out until another fat redneck made a post on page 3. , and Charlie Parker will be the first to tell you he is a fat 40 year old redneck so take it up with him brah,

The guy is a kind and gentle gentleman. A dedicated family man and community member. Dude, let go of the tree already , you sound like some hippy at the airport trying to sell me love beads, are you related to him? just say so, save us all some typing.

Maybe when you get your own show and we all support you and one day your gone POOF! with no reason given you might see our point.

Peter's show is pretty bad, honestly. The guy seems to have some man-love for Alge Crumpler. If he ever joins this site, I'll tell him that, too.

Ouch.....

Brah I did not mean it in a bad way, I was trying to get you to see our frustration with these radio stations over the years,
By them not saying anything about Mr. Bolton shows that they can turn on anyone, That means you also. Why should we let ourselves get sucked into liking another show? What do these program directors think? that the Bolton fans are just going to say "oh well he's gone ,who's next?"

What if Stacie, or yourself get the Bolton treatment after you had a show for a year? Wouldn't you want your loyal fans to be upset? or at least want answers?

Am I asking to much? If I am out of line here just say so, I think your the 3rd best radio sports guy I have ever heard on the radio, Your fast wit and humor is a talent many comics I know don't have, and yet they make money telling jokes, All smack talk aside, I hope you do get your own show, If not in SA at least in another market, Your agent must suck, I hear many radio talk show hosts who have maybe 1/4 your talent,

I know you won't admit this but Stacie gets treated like a piece of meat and I can tell Walter and others try to keep her in check, I know for a fact there is alot of jelous people in the radio and TV world, You need to move to Vegas or a town that will give you and your wife the job they deserve,

GOOD LUCK!

Yeah. Pete and I give each other hell.

But, he DOES have a disturbing man-love for Alge Crumpler. Seriously, listen to the show. Over/under on a Crumpler mention is twenty minutes.

By the way jackass. I traded Alge last night.
And it would be wise for you to except the offered trade.
Not a threat, but it would be in your best professional interest.

Don't think that there isn't a coorelation on why Jeff Bolton is gone and the fact that he wouldn't trade me Issac Bruce for Kevin Curtis straight up.......

Ponder that...

Thanks for the words Mouse. Stacie's got the big agent.
Besides, I'm like Peter from Office Space.

I work just hard enough not to get fired, (Or divorced)

I can't believe you're throwing in the towel on the season that early.

You want Kevin Curtis and Tiki - I want Steve Smith and a back to fill Tiki's position (not Pittman or Brown - since Ricky's going to take his spot). But I also don't think you'll trade me any of the other three.
