Kyle Anderson always looks to blame others for his bad rotations.. it never fails.

Why are Durant and Westbrook still in this game?

B/C OKC leads the league in blown 4th quarter leads:lol

Can somebody explain to me why Durant is still in this game? Oh yeah, STATS! :rolleyes

Hilarious okc has their starters out there still
It's nice of them to scrimmage the Spurs bench.

Reverse psychology...
how about him scrubbing it up for those guys?
:rollin

The truth is this is nothing more than a wasted game. If Pop would have balanced the rest between the Memphis and OKC games (I'm not talking about Danny "scrub" Green and Boris "just here to collect paychecks" Diaw), this might have bee a good game to see some real player development.

Consistency comes with repetition. He just hasn't had consistent reps.

He did earlier in the season and played himself out of the rotation, tbh.

yeah, but Simmons is taking all the shots now, getting out of team concept into hero ball to get scores for himself.

havin to play Wesbrook 35, Ibaka 34 and Durant 32... Oklahoma idiots.

kind of sad that OKC needs their stars to finish off the Spurs Junior Varsity Squad in the last few minutes.

He did earlier in the season and played himself out of the rotation, tbh.

But the whole team was really getting familiar with one another. So it's not crazy for it to take longer for him to grasp.

Even Anderson who gets somewhat consistent minutes hesitates and overpasses for too often

Swear to god, I'd rather keep ginger than fat head.... At least one POS won't get playing time

Id give him all of Martin's minutes.

I'd be tempted to do it to see if Simmons 2.0 is better than the version that played himself out of the rotation earlier this season.

That's two wide open threes and one layup Anderson handed over with his lack of movement. It's garbage time, but no need to play like it's the d league.

I hear you. Hopefully next season he's better. Definitely too inconsistent and risky this particular season and we are at the end of it and he was having terrible games in the dleague prior to this one too, so you don't know which Simms you get at this point.

Also this game is a glorified scrimmage against good competition, games that we were intending to win for real and not throwing up, he scrubbed them up big time.

Still I am rooting for him. He was much more in control in this one. I think his excitement made him be all over, both on defense and offensively throwing the ball away in prior games.

One takeaway from this game is that Simmons can play against OKC's backups, Kyle also should be fine against Singler as opposed to KD.:lol

I don't think that's fair. They could hang for stretches, but not a whole game. And it was never the Spurs second unit against the entire starting unit of another team. Tonight was what?.. 48-44 at the half. I'd call that hanging with OKC. They just can't do it for 48 minutes.

Good point. At some point you can't stop the other teams' stars going on runs. Really the most impactful thing was we didn't have much of a paint presence. When you have Bonner and Anderson trying to make contested shots in the paint you are in trouble. That is why I wanted Boban to have a better game than he did. Then securing rebounds was an issue. For example we might have gotten a stop of a shot on the perimeter, but didn't secure the defensive board, etc. Just things like that happen when you don't have your stars.

then offensively, sometimes none of your roleplayers can get it going, that is when your stars get you a shot, but we didn't have any.

It was expected.

You'd think that a player like KA would be very motivated to play since he's the one trying to earn and keep his backup minutes to Kawhi. So, if that true, that's very disappointing for a player who hasn't yet established himself in the league.

Simmons played awesome tbh. West was wet early..Martin got a bunch of great looks and clanked them all short. Dude needs to get in the gym or some some. Patty was hussling as usual.. Miller played great. Green looked horrible to me. He really needs to stay in his element.

Kyle had to play against legitimate competition without a star teammates leaving the worse defender on him. It wasn't a good showing..

Of course you won't play Durant and Westbrook every night.

I think he was tired and the game was over clearly. He competed against guys he was overmatched against most of the game, and he doesn't play over 30 minutes on a nightly basis against that level of competition + it was a back to back. At least Simms was getting over 30 minutes in the dleague. The level of effort to compete against OKC is not the same as a practice with the staff, its just not the same.

Just before seeing this I replied something on that vein to Czar. The level of competition is superlative for him. First lets admit who he was against and that he's not on that level... then you realize he's not used to competing against guys like that on a nightly basis and it was a back to back, 25 mins yesterday, 31 tonight. It's a learning experience, but he was overmatched, it took a lot of stamina to keep up with that team and he was tired.
