So a bunch of publicity is coming out about Burt Reynolds endorsing a fleet of "Bandit" Trans Am's that are being produced by these guys. They are essentially converted Camaro's...which is causing a lot of butthurt from Pontiac purists...but they do look bad ass and I definitely wouldn't kick one out of the garage. And let's face it...from the early 80's on the Camaro and the Firebird were basically the same car. I love the late 90's/early 00's WS.6's and those were just better looking version of the 4th generation Camaro. What say you? Does it bring back the feels of those old T/A's or is it fake crap?

In general, I don't like the idea of redoing the classic car models but like you said, I wouldn't kick it out. Probably fun as hell to drive.

I had a '77 which was the same as the Bandit's '78. It was an awesome car. Changing to the 2.41 axle ratio, I could go over 170 MPH on the autobahn in Germany. When I came back to the states, I bought a brand new '2000 Z28. I like the 4th gen body better myself. I love the looks of the 5th generation body, but I don't like the back seat leg room. The 4th generation is much better handling the the 2nd generation was, and absolutely straight off the line. I'll bet the 5th generation is even better yet. I never took my Z28 past 130 MPH, but in theory, it would do 172. I was laid off from work after I paid it off. I had 39k miles on it and couldn't afford new tires. I sold it and bought a sedan. When I had money again, I bought a 2002 WS6, which was made in the last month of the last year they they made the TA's. A friend of mine now has it, I told him it would be funny if it was the last one ever built. He researched it, and it out it was the 6th to the last Firebird ever built.
