Best hamburgers, BBQ, Pizza, sandwiches, seafood. Don't really care for Mexican food up there. Not a very picky guy at all, just want to know what's famous up there that people love.

Well, some places that I really enjoy:

Asian Mint: Sushi, Thai. Small place, but really great (best fried rice I have ever had).

Kenny's Woodfired Grill

Hopdoddy: Not really a Dallas original, but one of my favorite burgers whether in Austin or Dallas.

Aw Shucks: Really cool place with solid seafood.

Staying by Dallas Lovefield, but will be all over the city those four days.

There really isn't much to eat downtown unlike in SA. Only non-chain place in inner downtown area is Zenna which is awful and overpriced asian-esque food tbh

Pecan Lodge for BBQ but prepare to stand in line for over an hour.

Il Cane Rosso for pizza

I was going to suggest a Latin restaurant called, "Cuba Libre". Use to go there years ago and they had great food at decent prices. Plus awesome Mojitos that you could get in a pitcher. But when I looked it up, it seems that it closed for renovation and may never have opened back up.

There's also a bbq place over by Industrial that was somewhat famous and very good. But I can't remember the name. It was kind of run down looking and in a bad part of town but the food was great.
Also some place in Westend that had "exotic" meats. Can't remember the name of that one either.

I can't think of anything in Arlington that stands off the top of my head. A few decent Thai, Vietnamese places but nothing you couldn't find in Dallas or Irving.

Chip's Burgers is a good burger place.

They've been closed for 7 or 8 years, I think. I miss it.

I recommend Maple & Motor for a burger, Pecan Lodge for BBQ, Braindead Brewing for general menu and beer, or Eno's Pizza.

I recommend stopping by DG's for steak and fries. Very reasonably priced and the food is great.

Hamburgers - Offsite Kitchen, The Grape (only available for Sunday brunch), Angry Dog, Twisted Root, Maple and Motor, Chip's.

BBQ - Pecan Lodge

Pizza - Cane Rosse, Eno's Pizza Tavern, Campisi's

Sandwiches - East Hampton Sandwich Company, Uncle Uber's

Seafood - Drawing a blank here. There's Zeke's, but that's in Fort Worth.

Il Cane Rosso for pizza

If you get to Pecan Lodge right when they open, you shouldn't have to wait longer than 20 minutes. At least that was my experience. Cane Rosso is the best pizza in the city, I agree on that.

Hard 8 BBQ in Coppell.

Hard 8 is good but it's a chain. Would think he might want to go somewhere unique. But a great place to eat and have a few beers for sure.

There isn't one BBQ place in DFW that comes remotely close to the top 5-8 best places in Austin, not even Pecan Lodge.

Pecan Lodge is better than La Barbecue.

It's my least favorite place in Lockhart. City Market down the road in Luling is my favorite in that area.

LA BBQ was my fave when John Lewis was pitmaster, but I haven't been since he left to open a place in Charlestown. They still have the smokers he and his dad built, though.

Sorry I thought you were referring to Woodshed Smokehouse for some reason, that place is really disappointing but it's in FW anyway. Why anyone would slice sausage into thin pieces and dry it out is beyond me.
