Regardless of what happens in the future (whether or not he's in the Spurs' long-term plans), happy for him that he made the most of his shot and will - after next year's contract is up - get signed to another one that should leave him with nice dough in the bank by the time he's done playing. Not too bad for a guy who was playing semi-pro and was working in a grocery store.

I saw it as a way to make it up to him for leaving him out of top 10 consideration. Still very nice for him though. Helps his career whether he stick with the Spurs or not.
