A lot of players were never realistic, as far as being able to get them here. But there are a few I think could have happened that I wish we could have seen.

Mike Miller, when he was a free agent in 2010. I REALLY wanted the Spurs to bring him. They would have at least one more ring if they had, because he wouldn't have made all those 3's for Miami.

When Anthony Parker came back from Europe, he was the biggest bargain of the off-season. I wanted the Spurs to sign him so bad. Then he spent three years as a starter in Cleveland, for something close to the vet minimum. Spurs really should have found a way to bring him here.

I always wanted to see Duncan get to play with Marcus Camby, when Camby was still at his prime. P.J. Brown would have been a good fit with Duncan, too. Very under-rated by most fans. I think both of those could have happened, at certain points, but Camby would have meant losing someone else - at least when he was still good.

JJ Reddick would have been a great Spur. Wanted him for the longest. He was so undervalued on Orlando for so long he could have been gotten on the cheap. Spurs development would have gotten him to the level he has been with the Clips.

I always thought Steve Nash would be a good fit too, but he would never join unless it was before we curb stomped his Suns out of the playoffs so many times.

Spurs could have drafted Kawhi and Jimmy in the same draft. Cory Joseph probably doesn't slip until the 2nd round pick but Isaiah Thomas was there. Isaiah, Jimmy and Kawhi in the same draft. :wow

Probably would have meant no LMA or a Parker trade though.

Yeah that was just a joke.

There aren't many guys I could think of that were a possibility at some point and that I really regret not seeing in a Spurs jersey. I'm glad Diaw found his way to San Antonio as he seemed destined to shine here. I wish Batum had, he would be twice the player he is today. It's also sad that the Spurs couldn't land a decent big man to play alongside Tim during Parker's prime, Marc Gasol would have been terrific.

Any descent big better than Rasho, Nazr, Elson, Oberto etc. We had some lean years there with TD as the only good big. Those 4 were adequate along with Rob Horry but we went 13 years between DROB retiring and getting LMA. Shit we even tried Drew Gooden at one point. When Duncan was playing with one knee 6 footer DeJuan Blair was our other big. Shoulda coulda got a big man better than those guys sometime after 2003 when Timmy was still Timmy.

Drafting Joseph because he was friends with R. C'S kid at UT one pick BEFORE Butler is inexcusable. Butler played a year at a community college then three years at a basketball factory called Marquette. What was Corey, a one and doner? I doubet Butler would have had the touches and production he's had at Chicago, so we probably wouldn't have had to give him a max contract. He would have gotten Green's contract.

It's impossible to forget. This was actually the summer of 2001 when C-Webb was a free agent. He said he was tempted to call the Spurs back after they reached out. I don't even want to imagine the fallout if we had let The Admiral get away.

Joumana didn't want to go to podunk San Antonio so the only way Hill could play with Duncan was to try to get him to go to Florida. Turned out Hill pretty much sucked anyway and never recreated his glory days in Detroit after blowing his ankle.

Hill played some pretty damn good ball in Phoenix. Not like his peak, but he sure gave the Spurs some trouble at times.

Nah, that was Joumana again. Hill didn't come here because he was a franchise player in his prime and the Spurs could only offer about $2 million mid level exception vs the $93 million 7 year deal he got in Orlando. The Spurs actually had capspace for Kidd, but Joumana had a part time anchor gig on one of the NY TV stations that she wasn't willing to give up.
