I find these things a waste of time for the most part. I notice most of them are clothes when I'm driving by.

Anyone ever find anything good?

Like an old rare comic book or maybe a long lost LP of an obscure jazz/blues artist?

I think I'd rather buy a lottery ticket myself than to dig through a bunch of carp for a hidden gem...

I bought an office desk for my home for $35. The owner didnt even use it once. It was basically NIB. I was shopping at stores prior to finding this gem and a comparable desk would run $175-$200.

Yeah...they are good for furniture and occasionally electronics/appliances but it's usually junk for the most part. You'll do better at an estate sale.

I will tell you this...... I have always made a killin when I had a yard sale. Shit that was just pure shit and belonged in the garbage I could typically sell pretty easy. I made $300-$900 during my yearly yard sales.

some of my best finds have been on that table at the back of the garage or over in the corner or the yard behind the playhouse

I once picked up three identical cassettes of guitar lessons with Gary Moore. Price was 50 cents each. But...hey...I'll give you a dollar for all three of these.
Yep...then took them home and erased two of them and then duplicated John Lee Hooker on both and sold them for 25 cents each. So it only cost me 50 cents for the original
Gary Moore tape plus I made 50 cents.

Also found a good amount of my library at yard sales.

that's a pretty broad range of vendors. Or are you just talking about the ones that resell stuff (as opposed to the ones selling something they made)?

Dunno. I always thought flea markets were mostly like full time garage sales

I think they're a mix. tbh, I've only been to one flea market and it was this gigantic once a month thing in Canton, Texas. But I'd say it was half and half. Some with tables full of old stuff to resell. But then also a lot of people who made chairs or art or tshirts or jewelry. Then also a bunch that were retailing new items of which some had to have been counterfeit. Like Pokemon or Gucci purses back in the day.

I'll put stuff on e-bay if I know it's worth something decent (at least $40-$50 bucks). Otherwise, I just throw it away or donate it to Goodwill.

If I had a pickup, I'd probably be more active in picking random shit up at places like that. As it is, I have no place to put anything and no way to get it home, so I don't bother.

I always look for tools at estate sales. I recently bought about $100 worth of garden tools for $8 at an estate sale.
