It was an honor to be at Duncan's 1000th win last night. Woke up to the local media crying about calls and implying that parker's and KL's shots were lucky....

In fairness, Parkers shot was absolutely lucky, but still fuck them.

As long as they've played basketball in Salt Lake City, they've been convinced that the officials are out to get them.

Game 4 in 2007 was among the most ridiculous examples of this myopia among Jazz fans. Almost literally, any call against the home team there is immediately and forever deemed a screw job; and any call they think they should get against the visiting team that isn't made is simply more evidence the league's conspiracy to hose the Jazz.

Though I can understand their hatred of NBA refs after Bavetta waved off Howard Eisley's easily in time three and counted Ron Harper's late shot in Game 6 of the 1998 Finals. That Eisley call may have been the worst one I have ever seen in a game.

As much hate as Parker gets for all his issues, from myself included, dude is pretty clutch with a game on the line.

As long as he isn't shooting free throws I agree. That motherfucker seems to split every set of free throws he takes in late game situations.

Parker's shot was pretty lucky, but he does like those corner threes.

Don't see how they can say KL's shot was luck. We're starting to expect that from him now.

Besides, Utah got back into the game due to some luck of their own . . . those Ingles threes!

I thought Parker was lucky. Was shocked to see Kawhi make his as well. He's not considered clutch yet as he hasn't had to win games on a consistent basis yet.

What do you expect from people who wear these and refer to them as "magic underpants"?

The Jazz play-by-play actually acknowledged the refs made the right call on the Manu tie-up/jump-ball when the Mormon fans were going ballistic.:lol

That reversed blocking call on curry last night is one of the strangest things I've ever seen... he clearly didn't move his feet, but he also clearly initiated contact by leaning in...

I've never EVER seen a blocking call be reversed on review.

I agree. Kawhi has developed clutchness too this season. This is a good sign for us. Tony had some questionable plays to close out the game but two things:
1. clutch shot, (I remember another clutch 3 Tony shot against the Wizards early season, we lost it in a clutch Beal 3, but damn Tony had hit a clutch 3 b4 that.)
2. we won.

As much as the camps seem pretty divided around here, personally I want all my Spurs to do well. Good sign for us.

Damn, these Jizz fans really do complain after every possession that doesn't go their way.

Makes it worse to see that even local media chose to stoop to their level, just sad. I now understand why Dalamon is the way he is.

And 0 rings, tbh.

In my professional opinion, refereeing had a big outcome on tonight's game. The third quarter was called pretty tightly: 15 fouls combined on both teams led to 23 combined free throws in those 12 minutes. Then, the fourth quarter was called very loosely: only four fouls were called leading to three free-throws.
I don't think the game was being played any differently, it was just the standard to which Scott Foster, Scott Twardoski and Rodney Mott were applying the rules. Ideally, that would be more uniform across the entire game, but that wasn't the case tonight.

Yea, cos the refs want to be tight asses for the entire game. This is terrible basketball analysis.

I was a initially surprised the refs called the Ingles push at that juncture late in the game; but it was an obvious forearm extension Crying about it and pointing to whatever else at the other end is salty as fuck.y

Dude lists a bad calls margin list for the last two minutes right after. Well, it wasn't a bad call and it wasn't the last two minutes. That's just tantrum mode practically.

If you're setting a screen right in front of the official and you push someone and clearly extend your arms to do it, I'm unsure how you would expect them NOT to call that. Did he get pushed by Tony Parker? Yes, but Parker wasn't setting a screen. The easy call on that play is the illegal screen.

The basketball fan part of me is reeling over that one. I hate block-charge calls as it is, but that was CLEARLY a block as Curry took the contact in his shoulder and had to lean to do it. A real charge needs to be taken in the middle of the chest. If you give the guy with the ball time to go around you, then you're blocking. This is fucking fail-Mary-level incompetence. If it had happened to any other team, Bob Ley would be doing one of his stupid whiny shows about it.

I've seen lead officials overrule blocking/charging calls before. If the foul was in the process of being relayed to the scorers table and then reversed, I haven't seen anything that drastic though.

Tbf, if Parker pushed he should've been called for a foul.

I think earlier this season the Spurs lost a game to the Bulls, after LaMarcus was pushed into a foul late in the game. The Bulls got FTs and won. Nobody here liked that IIRC.

I agree that what Parker did is a foul, but there's less wiggle room for guys setting screens. If you get pushed into someone, don't extend your arms. Refs see the arms go out, they automatically blow the whistle.

When I was living in Utah, there was nothing better than wearing my Spurs gear.

I will say this, I've been to a few basketball games in a few cities, Utah has some of the hottest women I've ever seen anywhere. I'd go back to that state just for the eye candy.
