Im sure he can play in the playoffs regardless of the injury, the question will be how much it affects his shooting

They said the Spurs trainer popped it back in.
I don't even know how to gauge the severity of the injury, he was already shooting bad and is still shooting bad. Hopefully it is a 1 game slump and not going up affect his game.

That's what I'm concerned about I hope he's not playing with pain and that it's just a bad shooting night.

Basically got a month until Round 2... Sucks, but not too worried about it as long as it's just a dislocation.
He was playing outside of his normal game when he got injured. I have no idea what he was thinking. His strength is that jumper, make them stop that first. Of course, Tim is doing almost nothing to help except maybe helping GS by giving them the ball over and over.
It's ugly when they get that old and broken down and have to tape their bodies together to get on the court, then it looks like that. As long as they get paid I suppose.

How serious do you guys think this injury will be. Will it be a nagging injury he will have to deal with for the whole entire playoffs are will it go away within a week or so?

As long a it was set correctly and immediately by team doctors and he sat the rest of the game he woulda recovered in no time. Problem was that Will Sevening did pop it back in place and when LMA re-entered the game it again dislocated the first time he touched the ball after that. That shouldn't really have happened which was odd. It's initially painful, re-setting can be more painful than the injury itself (probably cause you know what's about to happen lol) than it's usually fine soon after.
Another problem is it can be like a sprained ankle, once healed it can be prone to happening again. Think about Tim's ankle in 2005. He'll be fine in the morning most likely and if he gets a DNP next game it's all precaution and rest. Just an annoying stinger of an injury.

I have done it a couple of times. It will hurt for at least a week. Question is how bad will it affect his shot?

It didn't affect Kobe after he dislocated his middle finger against the Spurs...still shot a cool 38% the rest of the month.:lol
_O1KVWIT-H4
He also dislocated his ring finger against the Cavs in 2009 & didn't miss a game nor did it affect his shot.
u6dTP7pAo08
He also broke his index finger & a pinky fracture during the period when the MVPau Lakers went to 3 straight Finals.
The Lakers are one well-placed hack to Bryant's right index finger from having their repeat dreams dashed. The finger has been fractured since Dec. 19 when a pass from Jordan Farmar (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=3002) was deflected by Minnesota's Corey Brewer (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=3191), causing the ball to smash the tip of Bryant's finger and jar a shard of bone loose.
He has played 52 of the Lakers' final 61 games this season since that injury occurred, just like in 2007-08, when Bryant played in the final 35 games after he suffered an avulsion fracture of his right pinky finger when he caught his hand in Jason Kidd (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=429)'s jersey in New Jersey.
At times, you would hardly know there was anything wrong with the dominant digit on his shooting hand. Bryant had a 10-game stretch right after the injury in which he averaged 36.8 points on 131-for-269 shooting (48.7 percent) and the Lakers went 8-2. At other times, the invasive tape job covering the splint on his finger was too much for even Bryant to overcome. With his legs tiring and his touch gone because of the tape on his finger, Bryant finished the season averaging 22.3 points on 21-for-70 shooting (30 percent) in his last three games, and the Lakers went 1-2.

Basically, if LMA isn't a soft pussy like Webber he should be fine.
Man In Black
04-08-2016, 05:26 PM
It's not a 3 to 6 week thing. It's a pain threshold thing. If you can play with the pain after it's re-set, then you tape it and go. If there is pain on the catch, on the swipe down, on the dribbling, then there is an underlying issue. Other than swelling, once the finger is re-located, unless the edge of the bone is frayed, then it shouldn't be that big a deal. It will heal, the trainer just has to help get support for it.

Despite all the softness tags, LMA is a tough son-of-a-bitch and can play through injury. Was it last year a hand injury was supposed to sideline him indefinitely and he was back in like the next game?
He'll be good.

They should still take x-rays to be sure - don't want any lingering/long-term problems.

He was a beast last year.
Tim is as ready as he'll ever be for the rest of his life. He's 40 wearing double knee braces and can't make a layup under the basket unguarded. He'll have some flashes of Tim of old but he'll be old Tim most of the time.
What makes you think I'm not calm? I've called it all year. That's so fucking calm I don't think you could get a pulse off it.

Well the defenders were not Raymond or Bogut but no matter. I am glad he had a good game. He played 35 minutes bc I bet he pushed Pop telling him that with all the development for Boban and Anderson on top of time he already splits with Lma and D west, enough is enough. He needed his own playing time to get his game back as much as he can get it at his age.
