View Full Version : Awesome Chili Mac!!

I'm making Chili Mac for the first time and I have some basic ingredients simmering- Chili Beans, lots of tomato sauce, hamburger, macaroni and I added some chili powder and garlic powder.
The wife gets home in 2 hours so I have time to add some things to improve the taste, it's pretty bland at the moment.

Any suggestions on what I might add? (onions activate the gag reflex)

There are a few things I have in the frig that I was thinking of adding; Parmesan Cheese, pepperoni or maybe some worcestershire...?

Thanks

And no, I'm not a house dad :)

I just added some jalapeno pepper juice so I'll have to go easy on the cayenne
looking for oregano, it's in here somewhere

Alright, it's pretty much done. I added more garlic powder, pepper, parmesan, paprika, jalapeno juice, worcestershire and sprinkled shredded cheese on top. Not bad at all
.
Thanks!

Chili mac is some good stuff... if you are in a bind and don't have several hours to simmer some chili... Cambell's Chunky Chili and some EZ-Mac is a good meal.

If you want to kick your chili-mac up take a pinch of comino and "Bam"! give it that mexican touch.

Okay, but next tiem you have to sautee onions while the beef is cooking. I can't imagine cooking something without onions. Gotta have onions. Lots of onions. I love onions!!

Eating Buffalo is akin to eating your shoe. There is a "beefalo", a bison/beef cow cross, but it is only a moderate gain in tenderness. There is little fat in bison meat, with little marbling (fat distributed within the meat like an Angus or Hereford), and in addition they are usually grass-fed, which makes the meat even leaner.

So it's about like eating an old longhorn bull. You'd be better off eating a nice whitetail backstrap.

Add some Lipton/Knorr Onion soup mix (the dried stuff) in with the Cream of Mushroom soup. It's great.

2Blonde

The onion soup mix has spices in it. If you do that there is no need to add anything. It full of flavor.
But if you are talking about right now then try Worchestire Sauce, some crushed up Chicken buillion or beef buillion.
