He's 40. He should win an award just for being an NBA starter at this point.

Duncan should probably retire this year or next. His mobility is severely compromised due to age. I love him, and i dont want to see him be a shell of himself.

Duncan 4-8-16 against Denver. 34 minutes, 21 points- highest scorer on the team!, 9/15! The wheels have not fallen off just yet!

It was a very slow D league game that we lost.
We need Tim's length for sure. I really feel the injury sustained this year really hurt him. We will see how we fit him in the playoffs. We know Tim can help against the Grizz.

The problem, CryHavoc, is that his threads are always about him, not about the Spurs. Note that he didn't say anything about WHY Duncan isn't done. You had to do that. He just posts something short that invites people to snap at him, and then welcomes it when insults start coming in. He actually has to echo any positive comments about HIM (even if he has to make them himself at times). And just like that, he's manufactured hits for another attention-whore thread. I'm not arguing with him anymore, but I am pointing out every time he does it. Eventually he'll go the way of UNT. And when he does, I won't laugh - I just won't think about him ever again.
Where are those game grades from Game 1? Pretty soon, you're going to have to do an average of Games 1&2. :toast

Of course he's a narcissist, but this is still a worthy thread. Obviously doesn't make up for his numerous other shitposts but I give credit when he actually says something I agree with.
Just got home from a marathon in San Luis Obispo yesterday, going to work on the game grades in a few. :tu

First of all, I'm just busting your chops about the grades. I know it takes a lot of time, and most of us have lives outside of ST. If you do them, it will be appreciated. Maybe you should just wait now, until after tonight's game?
As for the thread? LOL... he doesn't SAY anything. It's a thread title and an emoji. And the thread title is a call for people to bump HIS thread (to laugh at other people), any time Duncan has a good game. Pretty clever, I guess, if you think like an attention whore.
Maybe that's what you should do with your grades for Game 1. Just post a thread titled "A+", with a smiley face. Boom, you're done. No effort or thought required.

Hopefully, if the Spurs win the title this year, nobody makes a thread only saying "Spurs champs" or "San Antonio Spurs 2015-16 NBA Champions" with this emoji :lobt:...because you will hate it.
It seems you doesn't like an appreciation thread or don't get what it means.
You don't necessarily have to argue or discuss in those threads...just show some love if you agree with them. It's as simple as that.
This is an appreciation thread to Tim, he's not done and his defense is still invaluable to this team.
Also, I would post a Tim's emoji with that comment, but there isn't one. Shame on you, ST mods/adms.

There was a fleeting moment in time a few years ago when I thought Tim was done. He struggled, he was laboring and the team was in that strange "what do we do now" moment.
I, for a moment, thought maybe it's time Tim retires for the good of the team. I was wrong and have learned since then that something matter more than winning it all and watching DPG play together is one of them. As long as they don't pull a Kobe, I am fine letting them play as long as they want.

He's been looking like Robert Parish did when he played for the Hornets and Bulls. Not a good sign.
I don't have the energy to track down your mills thread byut your boy is fucking up game 2
Old man looked pretty bad out there tonight. When you can't make a simple layup under the basket with multiple tries and you're 7 feet tall there's some issues. He also can't seem to hold on to the ball. Between him and Tissot ball this game was a giveaway for sure.
Maybe he should retire. Boban can't move any better, but he can finish at the rim.

Duncan sucked tonight. So many easy misses. If he played halfway decent, the Spurs would have won by at least a few buckets.
He looks done to me.
But it's only 1-1, so I'm looking forward to Tim redeeming himself.

I definitely was screaming at the television every time he missed a lay-up. He appears to have nothing in the tank, sadly.
Any chance he retires and we can use his money to get unrestricted free agent Pau Gasol? Gasol put up sweet numbers this season.

Don't see any way he comes back next year. You can just see his frustration when he can't get it done like he used to.

We need Marc more than Pau, tbh. With Aldridge, we need a more traditional 5 than another 4/5 tweener. Pau Gasol is basically the Spanish version of Aldridge.

Pretty depressing but I think he's finished. I have noticed his knees have effected his lift off the ground. They are several times I saw him go up for layups when he should have been able to dunk the ball. A year ago he would have gone up for a dunk instead of a weak layup.

I'm not going to make jokes cause I respect the big guy too much, but his knees have robbed him of whatever ability (on offense in particular) he had left. He is literally just playing basketball through force of will, basketball IQ and heart.
He doesn't look Patrick Ewing in Seattle, Hakeem in Toronto or Barkley in Houston bad, yet he is inching closer and closer to that level of play. And as much as I don't want to say it, I really can't see how he could play through another long season. I just don't think his body will allow it at this point. Sucks........
I still hope we're all wrong and TD says "fuck all y'all" and plays even in a diminished capacity. Basketball won't be the same without him......

He looked really good on D in game 1, his scoring isn't there anymore, but he's still valuable on the defensive end.

He's struggling. To me it's been the knees all season and this series is extremely physical.
It's jarring when I compare it to his performance against the Clippers last season as basically the only legit starting big (injured Tiago and Baynes are not a legit starting big). Only in comparison to his play just a year ago do you realize how the second knee finally giving in has affected him. I hope he has a few great games left. We don't need him to be scoring a whole lot but we do need him to be efficient with the shots he does take.

I doubt he retires. His player option is near 7 million next year because the Spurs won 65+ games. I doubt he walks away from that.

40 plus 2 bad knees now.
Basically this. I hate to watch it.
I keep hoping he has something in the tank he can use in this series and the others so he can help get to 6th.
He's the only real C the Spurs have.
If they get 6th, can't ask for more or for a better last run.

Maybe, but I don't know why his knee injury is being counted out as the potential culprit. I realize we don't know the extent of it or if it's something that can or will get better in the off season, but I do know that he didn't look like this before he missed 9 straight games.
Either way, as painful as it is to watch him in this state, any so called Spurs fan should still attempt to find some sense of enjoyment in it, because unless this is something they think can get better, this is likely the end.

Completely agree, TD 21. Clearly his other knee being bad (whether a long term issue or something that can "improve" with rest) is the main culprit for the decline in Timmy's play. He could barely get off the floor with one good knee previously and is now relegated to playing strictly a stationary game or however you want to phrase it. Even with his poor offense and diminished production Duncan is still the 2nd or 3rd best big man on the team.
Like I said earlier, I still want him to return just for my own selfish reasons. The Spurs will likely not see a player of his ability, humility and dominance for a very, very long time.
