View Full Version : 1st round matchup: Mavs or Grizz

Spurs get to decide the last game of the season who they want to play essentially. If Spurs lose to the Mavs, Mavs will move up to 6th by virtue of head to head tiebreaker vs Grizz (this is assuming Grizz lose to Warriors which is a given). If Spurs win against the Mavs, Grizz stay 6th and Mavs stay 7th.

Mavs, shorter travel.

Mavs, shorter travel.

You have just had the bads recently. OKC doesnt need a walkover series, Mavs will give them problem. We will sweep Memphis

Both teams should get swept, neither would make the playoffs in a typical Western conference, tbh..

I'd rather get Memphis, but it doesn't really matter..people will point out the 2014 Mavs, but that team was much better than this year's version of Dallas..

I'd prob say Memphis just because Carlisle will give OKC more of a series than Memphis would.

i'd rather play the grizzles.

Duncan needs one last series win over Dirk before he retires.

I knew the Grizz would fall. I bet the Grizz front office probably wished they would have fell all the way out. I think the Grizz are the easiest matchup in the playoffs, but either way Grizz or Mavs, it wouldn't make a difference. I like that the Rockets/Jazz are going to be the eighth seed. They both have some nice intangibles to make the Warriors work.

Make no mistake, I think the WC final four seedings will easily hold, so it should be Spurs/OkC and Warriors/Clips. The bottom four are the weakest I've seen in the West in quite some time.

Memphis of course... 4 games, +180 totals...

Mavs. Rivalries make for a more interesting series. Forces Spurs to get their act together quick and prepare for rest of playoffs.

Grizz - because they are limping to the playoffs

Mavs - if you just want to fuck up a rival for one more time

I think Pop doesnt care.

Pop isn't sending the starters to Dallas on the 2nd night of a B2B & the Mavs are going to give it all they have to avoid the Spurs.:lol

I see us beating either team in five.

Grizz..less chance of surprise...

This Spurs team is kind of low key slumping...we have had only 3 double digit wins the past month or so.. after that 5-game home-stand, we switched off with the resting once the 2nd seed got locked..I don't want to run into well-coached team that's been in a thick of playoff battle for the past few weeks.. as mediocre as they look, Dallas level of talent is still better than the borderline D-league roster of Memphis..

Grizzlies are obviously an easier opponent due to injuries, but neither team should get more than 1 game from the Spurs. That said Carlisle would probably prepare the Spurs better. Pop would hate 4 blowout wins and equally hate it if the Spurs play down to the opponent's level. They have to enter the 2nd round sharp so they'd get both home games. A long and exhausting series against Thunder would lower their chances against GS further.

Memphis. Easier series, can sweep, rest up players. Dallas has a better, albeit, slim chance against the thunder. Memphis would be decimated by any western conference team.

Last time we played Dallas in the first round we won the title. I'd like that to happen again.

Grizzlies. For some reason the Mavericks play well against the Spurs. Carlisle effect, I guess.

I have to say that the Zaza argument is convincing, so I'd rather face the Grizz.

It's a big deal. I'd much rather have him taking shots at Durant and Westbrook than at Leonard and LMA.

Mavs are playing their best basketball to make the playoffs. The Grizzlies are faltering. Always prefer to play the team that is faltering at the end of the season. That said, I don't think either will be a pushover even if swept.

Mavs so I can easily attend a game (in Dallas)

Grizz, for sure. I'm not scared of the mavs but those niggas are dirty as fuck. If we have to play them, I'd rather do it down the line.

If we play Dallas anything can happen it's just natural course of history. Dirk is God and God can stomp on yourbass if he feels like it. Grizzly very open to be beaten easily. Mavs it's a dog fight

lol @ anyone being scared of current dirk

The only thing I'm worried about is how those niggas are dirty as fuck. Fuck Zaza and fuck the pest.

Whichever team is the hardest to face tbh. We need to be tested in every round if we have any remote shot at dubs.

Grizz. I can travel to memphis to watch a beatdown. Always nice to beat up on memphis after 2011 and having to listen to those annoying fans in 2011 at the games in memphis.

Grizz please. I understand a bigger test could be productive, but let someone else deal with Zaza and let's go home early and wait for the Thunder.

I will never underestimate Rick Carlisle. He is a fucking great coach.

I'd rather face the Grizz, especially considering that their 2 best players are out.

04-12-2016, 01:49 PM
Definitely grizz cause I know Mavs for whatever reason will make a series of it.

Besides, we beat them as a 7th seed when they were 2nd, i'm sure I don't want that to happen to us.

Grizz. They are way too be banged up to put up a truly competitive series.

Mavs always get pumped up for San Antonio in the playoffs and Jim Carrey would pull some wizardy shit to win them a game or two.
