View Full Version : Would you rest LaMarcus a Game or Two in the First Round to Heal His Pinkie?

Would you risk a playoff loss by resting LMA a game or two against the Grizzlies if it would put this pinkie issue behind us once and for good? Sit him the two home games to start the series and he gets a weeks rest.
Too much a risk? Too much a risk that the offense and LMA get further out of rhythm?

He's got 4 full days to rest it before round 1. Should be adequate.

Absolutely not.

You're joking/trolling right? :lol
At best, just manage his minutes, that's it...

Exactly. It's fine structurally, just sore. It's the fucking playoffs. You just play through shit like that.

No. Sweep the Grizz in the first round and you have a week or two off to rest before the next round starts.

Memphis is a dirty ass team tbh. I think we can afford to rest him for one or two games..

No need to play LMA/Bobo(just like against the Lakers in 2013).
Let D-West sumo wrestle w/ Z-Bo & Boban can crush their backup center (Martin) while Bonner gets his ass handed to him by JaMychal Green for taking his spot.:rolleyes
Tim OWNS Chris Anderson, so this should be his chance for one last throwback series.:toast (Pork also should have his way against Farmar:lol)

Sit him out until game 7 of the WCF.

And he just spent a playoffs doing it, so you he's going to be out there. If this were like a hamstring strain, it would actually be a compelling question, though.

Idk, at least manage his minutes.
It's the shooting hand and he's a shooter.

If he sits tonight he'll be fine by the playoffs.

If it's still semi sore in game 1, sit him. The rest of the team can beat Memphis's team of shit for a game.

Just depends on the severity and how it's affecting him. If he's in a lot of pain and it's affecting his shot, by all means rest him.

He should have rested these games, but rhythm with teammates is important too and I bet he wanted to play.
The only concern to me is that he or someone else said it felt loose, like it could pop back out.
Frankly if he wasn't sat down for these scrimmage like games, I don't see why he would in the playoffs. Just manage minutes.

He's going to need the whole round off, IMO.

Shoulda been sitting since the 1Q in oakland... I'd give him a game or two in that series if he needs it, but no more than that.

He should have been rested last night.

No, it's not the kind of thing that's going to magically heal in a few days. It's probably going to linger for a while and it can't get worse, so it's merely a pain threshold type thing.
Not that they shouldn't still sweep the Grizzlies, but with the way this team is scuffling along, there's no need to increase the odds of a longer series.
He's going to have to deal with this injury for at least a month or two, depends on how often it gets hit.
