It'll be embarrassing if the Spurs don't sweep tbh....

Spurs in 4, perhaps drop 1 if they have a bad shooting night (which is possible). Hoping to keep minutes low and take care of business.

First round against the Griz is a sweep. Lots of opportunities for the guys who played tonight to get more minutes.

Anything less than a sweep would be disappointing, tbh..
They don't even have any chuckers(Spurs occasionally have trouble vs. low-IQ chuckers like Monta Ellis, Rodney Hood types) that could get hot and win a game:lol

This Grizz team is worse than the 2013 Laker team tbh. Even with a cold shooting game from the Spurs, they should still sweep.

Spurs in 4. Matt Barnes won't stop Kawhi this time. And you're kidding me if a team that relies on Barnes/Allen/Stephenson will take a game away from the Spurs. :lol

They even have guys like Tony Allen who you can use to hide Parker or KMart on... this could be a series where Martin does play some good minutes if we need outside shooting...

Memphis gives up a lot of 3PTA & FT which is literally the worst thing in this NBA. They aren't the worst defense because of it, but very mediocre because of it.
Spurs have not attempted a ton of 3's this year, but if there is any series to get your 3PT stroke going again, this is it.
To illustrate: MEM gives up 26 3's a game which is 5th most in the league. Teams make 9.6 of them which is third most in the league.
MEM gives up 26 FT's which is 5th most in the league. Teams make 20 which is third most in the league.
MEM statistically makes their living off of TO's. They give up plenty of assists, but create a top amount of TO's. If you don't TO, they can't beat you.

I'm not sure it's even possible to have a dislocation like LMA's without ligament damage and/or some micro-fracturing. The discomfort is going to plague him, probably into the second round. He played almost 20 minutes against OKC, but then spent the second half in the locker room. I wouldn't mind seeing him sit out the first game. But I would be surprised to see him get more than that 20 minutes for at least the first couple. I don't think the Spurs need it to beat Memphis, and the Spurs will really need him close to 100% the rest of the way.

I heard that he had reached the minutes played the coaching staff wanted for him. The plan was to sit him after that.

Would say 4-0 but I'm not sure who has the coaching advantage.
I hope our bench energy guys (Boban, Jonny Simmons, KA, Miller) are allowed to contribute.
If Tim is having a Timmy Clunkin night then give 'Bobs 30 minutes.
If Parker goes into Porker mode bench him. One can dream.

Probably true. But ligaments do benefit from rest. Mostly, I'd hate to see him get a second jam.
Lots of people here like to talk tough about playing through pain. (Not you, but lots of others.) It's harder than they think - especially with finesse actions like shooting. The subconscious brain will flinch, no matter how tough you are. And it only takes a bit to throw off a shot.
I think you're right, and he could play. The luxury of getting this ruined Memphis squad in the first round is that I don't think they will need him much - and really not for long minutes. I'd take advantage of that.

We should have rested LMA as soon as he dislocated his finger. Immediately iced it right then, and then ice and heat for next few days.
Instead, we played him, in meaningless games. I can't tell you how stupid I think that was. Well, I could...lol

Spurs will sweep, winning each game by 15+. Danny will rediscover his 3-pt shot, TD will average a double-double. Parker will average 8 assists. Kawhi and LaMarcus will average 20 points a piece, and Boban will eat Lance Stephenson in the close out game for whispering in his ear.

Not really into predictions. What I'm really interested in seeing is who plays and how the play. Pop seems to have used the season for a LOT of experimenting. Did he learn enough to come up with a solid game plan for the playoffs?
Like...how will our starting back court come out? Will Parker be aggressive or passive? Will Danny find his shot? How will Diaw play? Is Duncan gonna play a bigger role? So many questions...lol.

'15 Rockets: SRS: 3.82 (7th of 30)

Much steeper drop off than Cripples/Grizz & that's the team the Duds faced in the WCF.:lol

The Rockets beat OKC when WestBrick was trying to duel w/ Harden on national TV. When Harden is moving the ball & throwing bones to Dwight, they can beat any team on a given night especially when their 3s are falling ala the Cripples series.

I found this interesting. Just listened to Rob Perez's periscope video on his playoff predictions and he talked a lot about the spurs as he is a big fan of Kawhi and Boban.
Spurs over Grizzlies in 4 - he was joking that Lance could win a game with a triple double
He says Clippers are the only ones who can beat the Warriors. He doesn't think the Spurs will win the championship this year unfortunately. Spurs can't beat the Warriors because they don't matchup well and have trouble with their offense. Duncan and Aldridge cannot play together and predicts they might trade LMA next year. He said the spurs offense is a complete mess because they rely on Aldridge and Kawhi ISOs and have gone away from their motion offense from year's past. He also says it's painful to watch Duncan play now. Athleticism, scoring, guarding Splash brothers are a problem.

Rob used to be a writer on Grantland and now works for FoxSports. His nickname on twitter before was Roban Marjanovich lol he loves Boban.
Anyways, he just says it's not the spurs year. They need a better backcourt who can guard Curry and Klay. And Diaw should be starting. I don't get the LMA trade prediction because he has been great this season. It is sad to see Duncan on offense but he is still valuable on defense. Oh Rob also said that David West has a real big chip on his shoulder because he took a discount to play for the spurs, if they don't win it all it's a waste.

He does have a strong case about the offense though. There is not much ball movement, of course that is part of Parker's problem. He is having a difficult time running the offense as the main playmaker with the starters. Then when Mills and Manu come off the bench it doesn't get much better. When Diaw plays, it makes it a little easier.

I remember how in 2013, the Spurs seriously struggled at the end of the regular season, but were fortunate to land the Lakers in that first-round bye. That series really set them up for the rest of their strong playoff run, which nearly ended in a championship.
Here's hoping this series ends up the same way.

Really like the Memphis matchup. I respect Randolph a whole lot and would worried if gasol and conley were on board but fortunately that's not the case. Should be a hard fought series with Barnes and Randolph making each game competitive but a sweep nonetheless. Hopefully the guys can get a nice rhythm going and pop can see the light and not play kyle. I swear every time he checks in I get so irritated. Unfortunately th game was not shown on Fox sports last night, major downer, but I saw the box score and it seems like Bob an stepped it up. On a side note, man was it a bit sad and exciting to watch our villain walk away last night. What a performance, 60 points, 50 attempts or not. And I didn't even give the Warriors a minute of tv ratings, not that it matters, but f- them.

Honestly no reason for us not to sweep. Memphis went 1-10 (3-14 over their last 17) to close out the season :lol
This really might be one of the worst playoff teams in quite some time. Z-Bo is their best player, followed by...Vince Carter? Matt Barnes? Lance Stephenson? :lol I think Tony Allen is coming back for the playoffs but regardless, that team is absolutely awful in its current state.
I'm struggling to see any scenario where we don't sweep. The only way we could lose a game to a team like this is if people aren't focused and playing with intensity. And considering it's the playoffs, that shouldn't be an issue at all.

Yes. What you said. The trading LMA thing was the best. And, he obviously didn't see LMA and Tim play earlier in the season when they had some sweet hilo action going on. Tim to LMA in the post is nice. Tim feeds him well. If Tim can make his jumper, which is a big if, that pair is a dangerous duo.

Oh Rob also said that David West has a real big chip on his shoulder because he took a discount to play for the spurs, if they don't win it all it's a waste.
I don't think our backcourt guarding the Splash bros is a problem. It's most definitely playmaking and offensive punch that's the issue
Gonna be a long few days. :hungry:

Dream first round matchup. Should be a sweep and hopefully the other series go to 7 games so our old and banged up players can have a rest. No chance it goes to the last possession of game 7 like it bloody well did last season. I was hoping for the Grizzlies instead of the Mavs (the usually give a good fight and Zaza tries to injure everybody) and the Rockets (I just can't stand watching Harden flop away, the games against Houston go on forever with people just chillin at the free throw line)
Should be quick and easy. GSW on the other hand may encounter a tough series v Houston and OKC could have a tough time facing Dallas and keeping Durant and Westbrook from being injured.

Sean ****** said it best last night
"They need to be focused and not complacent."
if its a 4-2 series that is gonna be fucked up
Green is a concern too his offense is shit....
Patty's gotta find his shooting touch
i wouldn't doubt if Pop goes to Anderson or Simmons......but i doubt it

Kawhi's minutes are gonna go up, but I still think Anderson gets some run behind him and Manu.
Simmons probably won't see the court unless Pop needs to go for a spark off the bench...and even then, KMart probably will get that call.

So, you're telling me the Grizz are tougher than the Rockets?:lol
The Rockets beat OKC when WestBrick was trying to duel w/ Harden on national TV. When Harden is moving the ball & throwing bones to Dwight, they can beat any team on a given night especially when their 3s are falling ala the Cripples series.
:lol You heard of the term styles make fights? The Rockets play at a pace that falls into the Warriors' hands and they have the worst defense of any playoff team by far. The Grizz would be tougher for them because they play hard despite being undermanned and slow the pace down to a crawl. That said, the Grizz would likely get swept by the Dubs too but the games would be closer and they would leave the Dubs with some bruises.

We should have rested LMA as soon as he dislocated his finger. Immediately iced it right then, and then ice and heat for next few days.
Instead, we played him, in meaningless games. I can't tell you how stupid I think that was. Well, I could...lol
You might be too radical, but I though something similar.
Just put his health on top top priority. He's a finesse player so it's even more critical.
Also we don't want players attacking the finger on purpose knowing is too sensitive.
With that said, we don't know exactly the right course of action. But seemed strange nonetheless.
I think this series will be a sweep, whatever care LaMarcus needs. Just have to make sure the Barnes of the world don't injure anybody and hope the other top teams end up with harder series somehow.

For everyone thrilled about this match-up (me included), will you still be happy about it when Matt Barnes or Tony Allen try to injure Kawhi and company?
I think we'll all be one cheap shot away from wishing we had played the Mavs instead.

Players like Zaza or Devin Harris could try the same shit. You can't avoid that kind of crap. Memphis is the easiest matchup because of their injuries, so I'd rather play them.

Dummy, the Rockets were playing at a FAST pace LAST SEASON. This season, Dwight is actually HEALTHIER thus they can slow down the pace by posting him up. Plus, D-Mo (post-up threat) & Beverely(scrappy defender) weren't available for last season's series. (Capela is also more experienced)
The Grizz got blown the fuck out in the postseason when Kerr stopped guarding Tony Allen. They don't have the soldiers to even make it a fight, let alone win a battler or the war. Meanwhile, the Rockets were a possession away from making it a 2-2 series even w/o D-Mo/Beverley & Dwight playing w/ a busted knee.
Curry/Draymond were also playing as well as this season in that Rockets so their improvement shouldn't be much of a difference, it really up to the Rockets playing as hard as last season to make it a series b/c they actually have a BETTER roster.:lol (New additions, Beasley/KJ, should come in handy against the Duds small-ball lineups)

should be 4-0, but I guess it'll be 4-2 for the Spurs.

Wishing they had '09 Dwight all of a sudden. Very mobile and great rim protector.

Most likely loss (if there's going to be one) is the Sunday, April 24th game in Memphis at noon. It will be the most challenging because 1) It is an early game, and it seems Spurs don't do well in early games. 2) It will likely be a close out game, which can be tougher.
Still, I predict a sweep.

Spurs in 3 (4 games, but only 3 quarters per game will be needed).

Dummy? Nah. The Rockets play at a faster pace this season compared to last when you compare the numbers and finished at the 7th fastest pace in the league. The Warriors feast on teams that play fast but don't play team defense. It's an incredibly easy matchup for them.

If you want to go that route, the Duds had a better DEFENSE last season thus the Rockets increased pace should cancel it out.:lol

I think the biggest key to the series is Pop convincing Mike Conley to be our starting PG next season....
Moving forward with Conley and Boogie here, we just so spoilt.

Yeah glad we didn't end up against Dallas. They always seem to have it out for us in the playoffs, despite our last game we played them :lol
