I roll with the punches, because (media members and fans), they're not in there every day. They don't see what we're doing in practice. They don't see how we prepare those guys. So they have no clue. All they're doing is voicing their opinion. To be honest, I'm much smarter than all of them when it comes to basketball.

:lol This guy gonna get extended

What single thing has he done that was smart? All I saw was him letting Kobe do whatever he wanted, and not coaching. If some young player next season shoots 28% from three, will Scott tell him to stop taking those bad, low percentage shots?

Threes don't help team win championships at all, so he didn't have to pay attention managing that and focused his energy on important things like giving 50 shots to your best player or getting your star rookie to record locker room behaviours to make sure that they are acting professionally at all times.

Smart.

He'd be wrong if he was "coaching" literally any other NBA team, but he's absolutely smarter than Lakerfans... that's an absurdly low bar to brag about clearing, though. :lol

The funny thing is that after Game 6 of the 2003 Finals, Kidd was overheard screaming at the Nets' owner that his then-4-year-old son could have coached that game better than Byron. In other words, the hierarchy of basketball takes is: a 4-year-old > Byron Scott > Lakerfan :lmao

Never seen a coach come out and say "fuck these clown ass uneducated fans,,,,they don't know shit.". Props to Byron for calling a spade,,,a spade.

:lol Pretty much.... I've literally never heard a solid bball take from Lakerfan on this board outside of Cubby throwing shit at a wall and having something stick....

They had a good run as trolls but when it comes to talking ball, they're literally one of the stupidest fanbases in all of sports....

Agree, an average Laker fan doesn't have as many brain cells as there are in a potato tbh. They only have the IQ of a pear, as my nigga sook once said.

So you have Kobe calling the fans stupid when he signed The Contract. Got them to believe they actually were still going to be good and attract FA's with that deal.

Now Byron Scott :lol. They get called stupid, pay tons of money for an inferior product & celebrate losing seasons by dropping confetti in a meaningless regular season game that sealed their fates again from making the playoffs.

This is pretty telling of the strangle hold Kobe held over LA :wow :

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/15221860/kobe-bryant-gone-now

ON NOV. 29, 2015, THE DAY Bryant publicly announced his retirement, Kupchak met with the media. As Kupchak sat down in a Staples Center room where Bryant usually speaks to the media after games, the longtime Lakers executive placed a drink on a table. Kupchak then joked that he had been enjoying his third rum and Coke of the evening.

"No, it's not in celebration," Kupchak clarified.

The room filled with laughter. Kupchak spoke for 15 minutes about Bryant. Afterward, a reporter who has known Kupchak and covered the Lakers for well over a decade privately remarked that he had never seen the usually reserved Kupchak appear so relieved, so happy. "That's the best I've ever seen him," the reporter said.

Indeed, it seemed as though an enormous weight had been lifted from Kupchak's shoulders and from the organization itself, because before Bryant's announcement, the star had waffled over whether this season would be his last. Perhaps he might come back for another season. Perhaps two. He hadn't yet decided. All anyone knew was that whatever Kobe Bryant demanded, the franchise would accommodate, for he had long bent the Lakers to his will.

I've noticed that not one laker fan has come in here and refuted Byron's claim. He is one of the,,,,if not the worst coach in the league but in the end he is still infinitely smarter than any laker fan when it comes to basketball.
