http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/04/jeremy-lin-nba-flagrant-fouls-response-video-fan
to make a long story short, a fan was pissed at the lack of flagrant calls against Lin so he made a video with a letter
Lin’s health and safety are at risk, as Lin gets hit unnecessarily and excessively in the face, head, and neck areas by other players frequently. The most alarming aspect of these incidents is that the referees didn’t make the right calls to protect the player, Lin, from harm. Evidently, the lack of calls and reviews from the referees encourages other players to continue using hard foul tactics on Lin.
The league resonded
While some of the plays in the video you referenced involved hard contact, none was subsequently deemed a Flagrant Foul given the full circumstances, angles and comparables from past games.
maybe the spurs fans all over the world need to start posting vids about GS being blatantly allowed to get away with illegal screen for 48 minutes a game just to see what happens.

Great idea tbh
There are a few things I'd love to talk to the league about:
1. The league has let moving screens become a problem again. (Not just by GSW - the whole league.) They tightened up on them once, and they need to do it again.
2. The off-arm shove by guards has gotten out of control. When they're being closely guarded, and want some space, they just shove the defender backwards and make their move.
3. The league has allowed players to carry the ball for a long time. And, yes, they all do it. But it has gotten ridiculous, and it makes a circus out of the game. I know it makes for highlight reel plays, but they need to tighten up at least a little bit.

Maybe they do something about the screens. They should.
The calls on guards I don't see them being adjusted bc if they decide to tighten, they will only do it on the Jonny Simms of the NBA, who will get called for carrying and off arm shoving, but Kyrie Irvings etc of the NBA will get away with it anyways, so I feel like cracking down on that will only affect the regular rotation players and journeyman of the NBA. By the way both Anderson and Simmons have been called for carrying and shoving, when in reality everyone does it. They are not even the most blatant. It's the kind of thing that is very inconsistently called and when it is called its only on guys like them so frankly I don't care about that.
The screens though have gotten out of hand and should be uniformly called.
Also, wrestling guys for post up position. I think you pointed this out in another post. Guys get flat out held, specially guys who are not stars, or blocked off the ball and it doesn't ever get called.

Agree with everything. One thing I would add is stop calling a foul on the defense when the offensive player is jumping into the defender.

Somebody should also tell the league that Kawhi is a superstar and hacking him should result in a foul. Opponents have figured out they can hammer KL without repercussions.

I'm sorry but horrible example in my opinion. Not even close to a bad carry like the other ones we see.

I saw KD cross over Kawhi by taking the ball with his right hand and carrying it over Kawhi's right shoulder as center court on a fast break. :lol

Damn. Well then that's a better example than that one then. :lol
Just not that one. That's all I meant.

Dear NBA,

he carried and walked in the same play. and the refs just let him get away with it. When he puts the ball between his legs the first time at the 3 second mark, he takes 3 steps and then puts the ball back down on the floor.

More fans showed up for a football scrimmage game for Ohio St. than all of the NBA playoff games combined, today. Maybe the NBA has some work to do.

When is the last time the 1st round of the playoffs decided who was going to win the Finals? Maybe when GS eliminated Dallas? Even then GS lost in the next round.
There are no surprises in the NBA playoffs. You know the Warriors are going to be in the WCF and either the Spurs or Thunder will be there as well. Then it's most likely the Warriors will be in the Finals. If the Thunder or Spurs are in the Finals, it's not new either. If Memphis won the Finals this year, that would be interesting. If the Pacers won the Finals, or if Toronto won, or if some other team who isn't going to win actually did, that would be interesting. When is the last time that happened? There's no Doug Williams story in the NBA. There were close one year but Jameer Nelson returned and shit the bed.
Just look at Memphis, Dallas and Houston. They are all going to get their shit pushed in. It's not even interesting to watch. They have no business even in the playoffs. Dallas had like 7 points in the 1st with 2 minutes to play, in the fucking playoffs. There are like 40 games between 8th and 1st seed in the WC. There should be two rounds then the Finals. There should be only 4 seeds in each conference. The other 4 don't matter. Instead, I could see them having 10 seeds and having 4 rounds prior to the Finals.

If they just eliminated conferences and just took top 16 teams it'd make things a lot more interesting... I expect this to be the next change NBA does tbh

This makes all kinds of sense, but they would have to account for the differences in which conferences, etc. have so many more strong teams than the other when establishing the records that would determine the top 16.

and I think they'd have to randomize the brackets with some kind of drawing. Having 1 seed start/paired with 16 seed wouldn't be competitive.

Watch out for that kind of thinking Pretty soon, you'll start considering that watching 82 games of meaningless bullshit doesn't make sense. And then you'll get all burned out and quit watching for a couple of years.
I mean hypothetically. ;)
