Warriors voters and Clippers voters put their guy first and the other guy third just to try to cheat the voting process, which is how Kawhi got it last year. I think in the home loss against the Warriors there was one play where Kawhi had a clean block on Curry but was called for a foul. I have seen Kawhi get legit steals or blocks against superstar players and still get called for phantom bs.
