In the history of the NBA.

Maybe prime Pippen, but he took a backseat to MJ during those years. He may legitimately end up being a Top 15 player of all time. For all the talk about how he doesn't make his teammates better on offense, he can make mediocre defenders look elite with how effective he is on that end.

Kawhi's Spurs leading scorer and main stopper, since David and Tim we didn't have a guy playing on both ends at that level like him...Just 24 years old, he's still years away from reaching his prime.
Can't wait for the next seasons :flag:

I don't get the Pippen comparison. I don't see similarities at all.

The thread title is more accurate. I don't think comparisons can be made. Kawhi is unique.

What do u mean u don't see the Pippen comparisons? They are quite similar players. Pippen was the better passer of the 2 though Leonard will get better. But at this age, Leonard is the better 24 year old

Kawhi is better than prime Pippen imo. Pippen was a subpar ball handler and very subpar 3 point shooter. With the way the game has changed and 3 point shooting is becoming more important, gimme Kawhi over Pippen.

Career shooting
FG: Pippen: 47% & Kawhi: 50%
3PT: Pippen 31% & Kawhi 39%

Career High shooting:
Pippen 52% & Kawhi 52% FG
Pippen 37% & Kawhi 44% 3PTFG

Scottie Career high 22ppg in 38 minutes
Kawhi Career high 21ppg in 33 minutes

Career per 36 minutes
Scottie 16.6ppg, 6.6rpg, 5.4apg, 2.0spg, 0.8bpg, 47%fg, 32%3ptfg
Kawhi 17.2ppg, 7.6rpg, 2.4apg, 2.1spg, 0.8bpg, 50%fg, 39%3ptfg and Kawhi's is on the up and up.

2 of the nastiest defenders ever and the extent of their prowess on that end can't be measured by stats. The only stat line Pippen truly trumps Leonard is assists. But the Spurs system really skews a players assist numbers in a negative way. My 'unrealistic goal' for Leonard was to be like Pippen. To think he has equalled or trumped him already is truly amazing. Spurs fans are bloody lucky to have this guy. If he keeps improving the way he has been who knows what his ceiling is. You can damn well nearly pencil him in as DPOY for the next 5 years and who knows where is offense will end up.
