Grabbed his right knee. Look like he might have tweaked the ankle too. Needed help up then hobbled on his own straight to the locker room.

The Cripples almost lost to a beatup Spurs squad last season despite being healthy & having homecourt. Now, Redick/Blake are injured so good luck w/ that since Chris Paul struggles against big PGs like Livingston.:lol

Grade II MCL sprain (the most common MCL injury for Bball players) requires up to 6 weeks to be a 100% healthy. So at best, he's going to be 2014 Porker status as far as his health is concerned but they have Livingston so they should be able to get by against the Cripples.

Just looked through MCL injuries. It's reported as an MCL inury by marc stein but the MRI tomorrow should reveal the severity.

Curry can actually play the spurs seriez if GSW stretches their LAC series to 7 games. Apperently MCL's can range anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks. He can return as early as the LAC series.

I dont know about storm but its per marc stein. They probably did a quick assesment..Pinched his.muscles see what kind of.pain he is in etc. Asses based.on where the pain is etc.

Must have been an educated guess by the team doctors.

What's your source that it's an MCL sprain?

Lower anatomy course, if you twist your leg inwards (medial side) & suffer a knee injury then it's most likely an MCL injury. It can be diagnosed by pushing the knee towards the medial side & checking for resistance. MRI is used to determine the severity.

baseline bum
04-24-2016, 06:46 PM
Damn the run for the title gets pretty wide open though if this is serious. Spurs, Clippers, Thunder, Cavs all have pretty legit shots if Curry is playing say 70% or worse.

Why the hell would the trainer let him back on the floor at halftime if she could diagnose that in the locker room?

Rondo tore his ACL a few years back and continued to play on his knee. Kirby tore his Achilles and got up and shot freebies. The fact it was non-contact and he reacted so drastically, plus his attitude after the fact has my attention.

The Clippers can beat them without Curry or with a hobbled Curry. Paul often goes off on Wardell, and Gaymond can't handle Blake. If the Clippers weren't such choking faggots, they would've won their season series vs. GS. So yeah, the choke factor will be there, but if the Clips can get over it, they will probably win the series.

No...I get it. Not overlooking it at all. And especially if Curry is out. OKC will look at this as their best and possibly last chance to get to the Finals. They won't lose to Spurs for lack of desire or effort. Will be a tough series but I do expect the good guys to win.
Yeah, I expect the Thunder series to be somewhat of a bitch, nothing is a given. Plus the Thunder will get the ref hookup more than the Spurs. If Curry is really hurt I expect every team to play harder, Spurs included. I do have confidence in Pop to not overlook the Thunder.

Everybody is different and professional athletes have a every medical advantage but these grade 1 and grade 2 scenarios from above are extremely best case. I'm not here to revel in this injury at all. I don't believe in rooting for injuries. I'm just saying knee injuries even mild sprains are not a cut and dry injury. It varies a lot on that persons body. Some could very well heal rapidly and have no issues. Others will not recover 100% in such short time. Once a knee ligament is stretched the chances for further injury on that ligament reoccurring is high.

Exactly. Knee injuries even mild sprains take time to heel. It's a slow healing process. The swelling and recovery of the ligament takes time. Then you have to strengthen it back to normal. Then even if all goes well you can reinjur very easily. A simple tweak of that same mcl can set you back weeks. The dubs can't fuck around with this.

It's not like we actually win anything if the Spurs win it all. I'd much prefer both teams to be healthy, and to have a competitive 6-7 game series.

MCL isnt a very big deal long term, its nothing like an ACL. That is of course assuming he can keep from reinjuring it when he returns. If you can make it a few months after returning, the chance of reinjury drops dramatically.

I never wished an injury to a player tbh... not gonna start now. I think he will be fine but Clips serie is gonna be tougher for them with maybe Curry missing one or two games.

For the rest, GSW and Kerr are paying the price for chasing records. I believe they should have rested him more this season especially this year where except Spurs, the rest of the West was crap but no it was let's get 73 wins, let's shoot 400 3s...

Dubs were net-positive with Curry on the bench against Clips, Spurs, and Meth. They're still the favorites.

According to a person with knowledge of Curry’s situation, the early fear is that Curry suffered a sprain in his medial collateral ligament during his second-quarter slip. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because an official diagnosis has not yet been made.

The Warriors won’t know for sure until Monday, when Curry is scheduled to undergo an MRI. But if those fears are realized, it could be quite some time before he is playing again.

Yep. It was clearly either that or an engorged patella.

It's gonna be 6-8 weeks before he can run normal again. Forget about playing him anytime soon, unless Kerr wants Curry's leg to fall off.:bang This is on Kerr and management! With the record and how deep GS is, there's no way Curry should of been playing more than 30 mins a game during the regular season.

I agree that they overused him but it was a freak injury and probably didn't have much to do with all of the minutes he played.

Didn't stop the league from hyping up the Warriors. Hell, with a healthy Splitter, the Spurs may have won the West. Injuries suck, but they aren't anything to cry over. GS has plenty left in the tank to make a good run. They're ceiling is just lower now than SA, OKC and Cleveland. They're about equal to Miami.

LOL, Miami blows, they would win in 5 without Curry. Golden State is on the Clippers level now imo.

This just in!
I have information from very reliable sources.

When Curry slipped, there was only minor damage to his knee. Nothing that a day off of it will not heal.
The real damage was to his vagina. The way that his legs split caused a tear. Before the injury Draymond could only fit his hand in there. Now he can fit his whole head.

Stephen Curry wanted back in — again. (http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/playoffs/2016/04/24/draymond-green-message-warriors-stephen-curry-knee-sprain-playoff/83480860/)

All around him at the Toyota Center on Sunday afternoon, with the Golden State Warriors’ hopes of a title defense hanging in the balance and the reigning MVP with tears in his eyes having just been told that a third-quarter return from this right knee injury was just too risky, there was noise. There were Houston Rockets fans revealing a lesser side, cheering as he left because, well, the Rockets’ Game 3 win that took place while Curry sat with a sprained right ankle had shown that there was hope so long as he didn’t take part.

this makes no sense. I've been informed several times that
1) Curry is going balls deep on the Spurs
2) Curry is going to jizz on the Spurs
3) Curry is going to skullfuck the Spurs

really confusing. Wondering if this discussion should be in the Think Tank.

They're ceiling is just lower now than SA, OKC and Cleveland. They're about equal to Miami.

How can their ceiling be equal to Miami? "Ceiling" means the best case scenario if everything goes ideally. For GS, their ceiling entails Curry returning to full health and team chemistry returning to regular season level. Thus, they have the highest ceiling of all teams, although they are (presumably) unlikely to reach their ceiling.

If the MRI comes back with a grade 2 sprain or worse, then their ceiling will come crashing down.

The Clippers have the Spurs numbers, we match up quite well and in our favor against you guys.

One playoff series and you have their number? What about the sweep in 012? I guess that doesn't count either? You won at home in a 7 game series against a Spurs team that blew it in game 6, that is hardly having the Spurs number by any means.

On top of that no HC this year either, huge in a 7 game series.

I'm talking about if Curry is hobbled (not even out), they have as much potential as Miami does. That doesn't mean they'll be at the same level. Miami itself has a ceiling it's hoping to reach that's better than their usual performance.
