Seriously though let's look at the game, chuckbrook and durant both chucked up prayers, ibaka was hot. Spurs missed layups. Donovan is an idiot, how did he run out of timeouts, when he had the lead for the entire 4th quarter? The fact that, that is being glossed over is hilarious.

Positions broseph...great QB's last way longer than great RB's. Kobe's position is a young mans position. Still I give credit to Tim, he could have been a very physical big man but he played his cards right. He's the NBA's version of Bernard Hopkins...fucker aged very well.

My point is, you can't talk shit about a 40 year old man playing in the NBA. He's officially safe from all further criticism. He shows up, and we clap for him.

There's no other options. Boris and West get murdered on the boards and aren't shotblocking threats. Boban is still too green and is even a worse defender in the pick-n-roll.
It's live or die by Duncan as the starting center in this series. Sure, you could go smaller and place LMA at C and bring in Boris as the starting PF, but LMA has been murdering Ibaka all series.

For someone who has a high amount of respect for Duncan, that was just a sad sight to see. It always breaks my heart to see legends go out like this. Hopefully, he bounces back. Adams was murdering him on both ends of the floor.

POPABITCH needs to do something about kawhi playing with his horse shit when he needs touches that goes to scrubs who goes and throw up bricks or playing hot potato not spreading the floor or self creating for themselves to be open aka cutting the key...
anderson is a fkn scrub who provides nothing offensively, his basically rj v2.0 passive on offense parking on the perimeter playing hot potato, wont do shit on offense but take more seconds of the clock when he touches the ball...why do the spurs needs another ball handler on the floor when u have 2-3 guys on the court who can do what anderson does?
dont get me started with that scrub mills, all open looks and trigger happy, still cant even hit a shot when you need it, dude takes more or continuous possessions throwing up bricks then ur main players...

Because shaq and mvpau were the leaders.
But why do you want to talk Kobe? A player who missed the playoffs and got eliminated by the Suns twice in a row in the first round right in the smack of his prime is not a benchmark.
You somehow seem to see that as some sort of great accomplishment and scoring two points in a playoff game at 40 years old as some sort of shame. your logic doesn't flow.

I explained a million times about playoffs and winning the championship.
History has shown time and time again that a superstar, even with really bad teammates and coaching, can drag them to playoffs ion their prime. We saw that with pretty much every single player who are in the conversation of a top 10 guy.
Winning the championship though, is the opposite, history has shown that no matter how dominant of a player you are, you have to have great players around you to win championships, with the exception of a very few cases (11 Mavs, 94 Rockets, 03 Spurs), and those cases were eventually capturing lightning in a bottle.

Clear misinterpretation. I have stayed consistent in my logic through the years. Teams are responsible for team accomplishments, but individual make up teams.
History has shown that superstars can consistently drag horrible teams into the playoffs.
History has also shown that superstars, no matter how good they are, cannot consistently drag horrible teams to titles.
It has nothing to do with fitting my argument, it has everything to do with historical trends.

Superstars should be able to lead teams to playoffs in their primes.
Superstars are not expected to lead teams to titles regardless of team makeup.

Such as how? you are very elusive in your responses.
And no, the Gorilla thread is what it is. I never counted on people to be so sweeping in their generalizations that one single person can be a representative of an entire race, especially one that is so horrible as a person.
As for the hate for Kobe, it has changed after this season. I still wouldn't use the word hate, but disgusted is probably a better term. I always thought he was manipulative and overrated, but this season has really gone overboard, how he would take joy in being the architect for glorifying himself at the expense of the once proud franchise that has stayed loyal with him for 2 decades and made him what he is is disgusting.

Nothing wrong with "sports hate" ...
I sports hate: Ainge, Pierce, Dwight, McHale, Laimbeer, Bulls/Spurs/Lakers version of Rodman, Coach K, Christian L, ATL/49ers era Deion Sanders, MJ before the first retirement ...PJax before he came to the Lakers , Karl Malone.
I still respect most of those guys and I have even see you give Kobe respect as player at times ...
Doesnt mean you cannot hate them.
You say it's not hate and deny it constantly but your words and actions dictate otherwise. The Hating you Nike spot fits you perfectly not sure why you cant embrace it? :lol Kobe is hated by so many people not sure why you try to maintain objectivity on it.
I flat out cant stand McHale but he had some of the best moves of his or any era. a great player he also may be overrated by some. It happens. That doesnt bug me ... I hate him all the same.

I don't even sports hate him. I have respect for most players and how they clawed their way through the ranks. I do not like hypocrites who go out there trying to end people's career, then turn around and say they are role models (Karl Malone), but that is it. Even the Mahorns and the Laimbeers I am fine with because they get under your skin, trying to hurt you, but they make no attempt to hide it.
Ainge I can understand, the guy is a total jerk. Pierce you have to respect. Dwight I can see why for a Laker fan, but he is really too juvenile to even hate. McHale is awesome, but that clothesline ..... Laimbeer was dirty, but again, you have to respect him, same as Rodman (if you hate Laimbeer, you gotta hate Pistons version of Rodman though). Christian Laettner is really a definition of a jerk. Not sure why Coach K.
There are many NBA players who are horrible human beings, and I think in order to be up there at the top, you have to have this general apathy towards others. Jordan, Thomas, Rodman, Artest, Bowen, those are guys who have no reservations about ending your life just so that they can beat you in a pick up game, but they got there because they are all about themselves.
As for Kobe, he copied people too much for me to hate. I mean, I don't hate Jordan, and Kobe copied everything from him from a game perspective, and couldn't do it as well, so why would I hate Kobe? I am just disgusted by him as a human being, and I have doubts about what happened in Colorado too.

Bird is was a horrible father same as Malone but I still got love for the Legend ...
I already said I respect all of them. Doesnt mean I cannot hate them still.
Coach K acted like a sore loser in the NCAA tournament loss to Oregon Sat there and told a bold faced lie in his press conference. Caused a huge distraction before Oregon's next game and then gave a half-assed apology afterwards. Everyone acts like he is mr class but I thnk he is the definition of a hypocrite. he used to diss Calipari for the one and done stuff and now he is just as blatant with it ...
Great coach but full of shit tbh ... respect him too though.
From Foxsports but you can fins similar stuff on coach K on ESPN, SI,com from those that have the guys to be honest.
Oh, the irony was delicious. Mike Krzyzewski, a man whose star player this year is best known for repeatedly tripping opponents, was on the sideline after Duke's loss to Oregon allegedly lecturing the Ducks' star player for not having class on the basketball court. Somewhere, a pot and a kettle high-five.
On one hand, Coach K is the greatest coach who's ever set foot on a college basketball court. (Yes, better than John Wooden.) He's a model American — a West Point grad who has coached a team of stars to multiple gold medals in the Olympics and created the preeminent college basketball program of the last 35 years, deftly navigating through the era of juniors and seniors to the one-and-done era of today — and is known for his charity work and just overall human decency. Mike Krzyzewski is a good man. He's also an unapologetic, pompous bully.

Please, don't put anyone in the context of Karl Malone when we are discussing fatherhood, maybe with the exception of Calvin Murphy. I mean, what Malone did was sick, just absolutely disgusting. Actually, I don't know much about Bird's personal lives, other than the fact that his dad called him on the phone and shot himself in the head, and that he worked as a garbageman.

Would be nice ... but I doubt it.
Russell is really disappointing me.
he is making tough decisions, forcing shots and drives that allows the Spurs to leak out in transition. his shooting is worse than Kobe's this year right now ...
KL has made it tough when he defends him and you can tell the spurs bigs are making rotating to the lane to protect against his drives their #1 focus. That is why Ibaka is always wide open ...
If they can ever both get hot then I think OKC wins no matter what Spurs do especially if Adams/Kanter continue dominate inside ...

Even worse, at least Jim protects the rim and will rebound. LMA scores, but averages 7.8 rpg and 1 bpg in this series. These are PATHETIC numbers for a 6'11" big.
Spurs probably told him he'll replace Jim if he retires (from the looks of it he has a Purple and Gold knife in his back :lol). That, along with 20 years straight of playoff appearances (4.5** rangs :lol) sold him on going to SATX to play for your Spurs.
If this is the end for Jim, LMA has to rebound and rim protect. He hasn't shown the ability to rebound double digits in his career (he's done it only twice) and we know he's not known for swattery.
It'll be interesting to see Pop's trademark defense next year and beyond if Jim retires and LMA is asked to anchor. Can he do it? Doubtful tbh.
** denotes that a "title" was won in an NBA season that was light 32 games. :lol

Game 2 defeat at home turned out to be costly for them Spurs imho. Had they made one more shot and won that game, with the hypothetical 3-0 advantage there would've been an easy path for them into the conference finals... Just one point :depressed:
The Spurs relied too much on LMA on the offensive end and when dude got tired out by the defensive rotation of Adams/Kanter/Ibaka, the Spurs had no efficient go-to guy on the court (while OKC always had two). Kawhi should play more aggressively and get more involved in offense imho, rather than limit himself to the role of a hardcore defender who chases down the opposing team's primary scorer all over the court without doing much else except shooting some cheap three's (that ought to be Danny's role, not his). Nigga is supposed to be the franchise player of this team, tbh.

You saw what happened when Kawhi wasn't guarding WestBrick in Gm 5 besides he was driving to the bucket & dunking on fools. It's Softridge that has resorted to jacking up midrange shots when things got physical rather than banging in the post as he was doing in the first 2 games.

Yeah, Pop should start David Robinson.:rolleyes
You do know David West has been just as shitty on offense & might as well wear an OKC jersey on defense. I don't remember the last time Diaw grabbed a rebound either.

SA's offensive production has been ~7 points better per 100 possessions with Diaw instead of Duncan for entire season+playoffs. Not adjusted for lineups, but you should take any edge you can get, especially in this desperate situation.

Dumbass, Diaw can't fuckin rebound to save his life. He is going to give up double what he produces.:wakeup

Your favorite player is the worst player on the floor at any given time. Diaw doesn't need to play either.
