This, but I've also been jet skiing there as well. Don't know exactly where it was but one beach had a whole bunch of inflatable trampolines in the water, that was fun.

What DPG said, try and set up a solid day of scuba out at Palancar Reef.

The last time I was there we did a horseback tour which was pretty fun, ultimately though Cozumel is known for it's diving and snorkeling.

We did the cruise line and it was fine. Might have paid more, but was easy enough.

I religiously use Tripadvisor when I travel.

Pretty much planned my SE Asia trip through it. Good times.

Been to Cancun and Isla mujeres. Mainly what I did was eat, drink and have lots of sex for the two times I was there. I did jet ski, snorkle and head downtown to listen to music and dance. I also chilled on the beach a lot.

Very nice, tranquil beach city. It's not Cancun, Acapulco etc. (aka party city). There are some clubs there if you have to do that sort of thing, but the tranquil/not densely populated beaches are where it's at. Clear, glistening water there, jet skis, banana boats, snorkeling, scuba diving (if u know how, which I don't, but I imagine it's great there) parasailing etc. pretty much. Dolphins come REAL deep into shore (like within reaching distance).

And of course, the great (and authentic of course) Mexican cuisine wherever you go.

If you're going on a cruise to it, just mingle around and get idea where everyone else is headed to. Most or a lot have been there already before, or heard from people they know.

If you are around Tulum be sure to stop at Taquiera la Eufemia

There is a freshwater river that flows in an underground tunnel that exits into the ocean and the water is crystal clear. And across the street is some amazing freshwater caves you can snorkel around.

Teak it easy. He is getting his information off the internet. You know he's never been outside of Houston.

I've been several times. It's not hard to find stuff to do there, unlike some cruise destinations. Like others have said, scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, etc are great. It's more expensive, but if you book through the cruise ship your transportation and time is guaranteed. Whereas if you book on your own and you run late, you're basically screwed.

But it's also a cool town just to walk around and drink/shop/eat. There are some nice beaches. And, I've never done this but, some of the resorts on the island will sell day passes which include access to their pool and beach and all you can drink.

We did something like this. We had done excursions on the other stops and were pretty worn out. For Cozumel, we just did the private beach thing. They drove us to a secluded beach and we just hung out for the day. It included a good all you can eat lunch and all you can drink bars. One of the bars would let you pour your own drinks. Also free snorkel, paddle boats, kayaks, wind sailing, etc. Then when they bring you back, there's an hour and a half or so to mess around a shopping area with some cool bars near the ship.
