If only lma weren't injured

DPG21920
04-30-2016, 08:40 PM
Important to note, like I said in the write up, OKC thrives on fast breaks. When the Spurs are making shots, it limits that which is huge. OKC scoring 40 with SA having a great offensive half are strongly correlated. It sets up SA to defend in the half court which makes them so tough to beat.

When you turn it over vs OKC or miss looks, their athletes (including their bigs) run the floor like mad men and it's really hard to stop.

All of the "little guys" for SA came in and played playoff level basketball. You can see the limitations of West/Kyle, etc.. But damn they did not back down and fought as hard as they could. That would go a long way.

I know it doesn't matter now, but SA needs one of TP/Mills to be good each game, both would be great. But at least one. Spurs gave up 6 offensive rebounds in the 1st quarter, then only 2 in the 2nd. Much better and they have to focus there. Everyone has to battle and guys like West/Kyle doing work on the glass when they are in is key to them not only getting minutes but sustaining.

He looked out of place when he first came into the game. That one loose ball he didn't act like he even wanted, and the shot he put up was ridiculous. But after that he redeemed himself on the defensive end.

Didn't he steal ("recover") the ball off Durant at the beginning of that same play?

It's always weird watching KA play, he's really slomo, sometimes it looks like he glides to the hoop, or just shuffles his feet to get in perfect position for a rebound. He's very precise with his movements. But yeah that shot was weak, though that's the only one he took. It looks like Parker and him have been instructed that their role wasn't to shoot tonight.

It's hard to notice looking at the point differential, but OKC has actually played us to a standstill ever since the early part of the 2nd quarter.

Hope that this a 40 minute game for both Durant/WB. Their bench didn't give them much in the first half and with the burden Durant/WB have to carry on offense if they stumble then it's going to be rough.

Which means the Spurs haven't taken their foot off the gas, and let them climb back in. You expect the other team to make a run. Spurs haven't let them do that. That's different.
