When can federal courts hear claims that are also involved in state probate proceedings?

The issue presented by the case has virtually nothing to do with Anna Nicole Smith. It has everything to do with determining when a federal court can decide issues that arise out of a state court's probate proceeding. It's an important question of federalism, which is a hot topic in the Supreme Court these days.
