And no, this isn't a complaint about the refs, but an illustration of the fact that teams heavily reliant on midrange jumpers are flawed. And the fact the Spurs' two best offensive players are midrange jumpshooters exacerbates the issue.

That said, I think LMA and Kawhi are a nice core moving forward, but they seriously need to be complemented by a penetrator or two. It will also help if Kawhi works on nothing but his dribble-drive game in the off-season instead of trying to imitate Kobe.

As embarrassing and sad as this loss is, it could be good for Kawhi. Maybe it will motivate him more than ever. Or maybe it will just be par the course for his career, 2014 just being an anomaly.
