Do we even want them back tbh? Unless they take a very low role. We need to get younger

They might need to take a paycut so Pop can re-sign Bonner, tbh
Yeah, season tickets, hopefully court sides, but I understand if they go luxury box.
But for real..I want to see Timmy sign two 10 contracts but having him take up a roster spot is criminal.
You don't even know their health state..every year it's harder to recovery

I hope they go, but would take another year if Harlem Heat and his gay avatars left.

I honestly don't want them back. We need younger guys. Would be refreshing for everyone. Including Pop because he needs younger guys to teach so it won't get stale.

Tim's coming back. He'll rehab the knee. Manu can still play as well. He's more of a question mark though. He might be tired of feeling his age against these lightning fast guards.

Nah, those two need to ride off into the sunset.. They can't possibly contribute anything more on a roster. They can come back as assistants though.

05-12-2016, 09:22 PM
I tell you what, Timmy still better than West, even in one leg...
It really depends if they Spurs need the cap because some max player becomes available, and obviously, if they want to come back...

Duncan is my favorite player of all time. I have followed him since he was at WCF but I don't want him to comeback. It wasn't fun watching him play this season after he came back from his knee injury. I rather him retire instead of sticking around to be a washed up scrub.

I can see Tim playing one more year but not Manu.

They won't retire in the same year. They don't want to enter the HOF together.

there is a reason both are playing after Pop emptied the bench.
They are done. It's been a good ride.
The fact that they're both out there with West and Miller makes it seem that Pop's letting them finish their last game.

If Tim and Manu and West and Mills and Green all come back, I don't know if that'll do it. We need some young legs and height at the wings and guard spots. Could use a bruiser, too. Bonner's definitely finally gone for that reason alone.

They shouldn't be. Duncan is Kobe-done. Don't let a flash here or there fool you. He's not a good play for a whole season/playoffs anymore.

Maybe we can get West to play next to LMA next year...
And limp-shot-Kyle 6th man role. :lmao

I really wouldn´t mind if they want to come back, we should have a roster constructed with 8-10 really good rotation players, and if they are here for mentoring, that´s great, let them play in blowouts or against certain matchups, but to have one of them to be the anchor of the defense, and the other to lead a second unit full of scrubs, neither can do it anymore.
If they do come back, or ifone of them does, it should be as normal NBA players end their careers, mentoring the young players and more off the court than on it.

Felt like a last game.
Hope not. Don't care if we suck because of it. I've been a fan for 24 years. My 3yr old son's favorite Spur is Timmy, my 5yr old's Manu... I enjoy every game I can share with them watching legends and creating memories.

Right now I don't want them to retire.
I feel sad that they didn't go out with a title.
Also sad I never got to see them.
Why the frig do I love Timmy so much?? :cry
But maybe with some time I'll be more rational.
It seems like they have had long and accomplished careers and it's time to retire.

I think they both can return...in a roster of 15 men they're still more than helpful. And let's remember it's the first year of an epic change of game style for this team...a lot easier to play in the regular reason but very difficult in the play offs, where you need lots of confidence in the system and in the players...there was a reason why Manu, Tim and West decided to have a player option for next year...that said, its obvious we need new blood. Bertans will be a good Bonner replacement but then we need for sure something else..

The truth is that they both had good seasons.
You're certainly not getting better quality for cheaper.
Tim's defensive impact is part of why we were best in the league and Manu's advanced numbers as usual indicate just how big of a factor he is. At one point the bench looked historically great, until, that's my theory, the increasing Kyle minutes slowed things down. I don't think him and Manu are a good match at all.
If Manu stays, the bench can still be elite as usual but especially against good teams it obviously need some fixing with more shooting and a big who can play PNR. Maybe more Boban?
I hope they go on.

Tim is coming back... he's still got something left in the tank. His starting days are over but I see a solid 18-20 minutes per game with no back to backs.
emanuel is gone. a spur legend

Even if Tim decides to hang up his boots, I hope he can come back as head coach.

Manu looked like he had been crying in his postgame interview tho. I think at least one is going, and let everybody in the lockerroom know it.

Tim Duncan is my favorite player, which is why I want to see him retire, tbh..I don't want to see him look the way KG has looked the past few years, which is what I was reminded of in this series..
He was great during the 1st few months of the season, but all it took was 1 injury to turn him into a liability..it's only going to get worse..

Dream scenario for me would be to have him rest all year and sign in late March, just in time for one last run.

Sadly, I think they won't. It's the 1st season that I felt that Duncan and Manu had little to nothing left. Not even flashes of brilliancy in the playoffs.
Manu will probably retire after playing for ARG in Rio.
I don't mind them coming back as legit role players, but they had way too much responsibility these playoffs. Manu can not run a unit anymore. The biggest reason the second unit declined so fast was manu being the lead. He can be a good spot up shooter though, and always a good hustler.

It's best if they both ride off into the sunset like true legends.
