I just dont get it. Theres always one player out there who judt os cealry not the best option but because they have a history with the NT they will play.
It's a huge handicap.
Rooney etc.

It happened in UY to some extent with Forlan but the coach is to blame. Instead of giving him the last 10 min of the game when the defenders are more tired he'd give the TSOB the start and running him to the ground for "respect of the game and his past" BS

For good or bad reasons, coaches like to have THE experienced guy making transition between two generations. Germany was usually this kind of team with vets doing the leadership role..it worked pretty well for them
