baynes = C blair = pf line up................ baynes nullifies adams/kanter (see 2013 vs dwight)...............blair = one of the all time best rebounders solves a major weakness ............... cojo = full court pressure defense / ibaka effect

How so? They weren't on the team.

Spurs missed Baynes this season but would not have been able to sign LMA if they made the decicion to pay Baynes.

I disagree. If we had those 3 players and the current Tim Duncan as starting PF, we would have lost too. If we had Baynes or CJ we would not have had LA. As for Blair, my man couldn't find his way on anyone's roster so I don't believe he would have been a difference maker. He has always been undersized even if he has a good motor.

The lineup the beat OKC last time included Marco Belineli. We certainly could have used his scoring. I'm not sure how OKC keeps winning games. They get terrific energy from Westbrook and Adams, as well scoring from Durant - but other than that, they shouldn't be winning. They are careless with the ball and make stupid turnovers. Golden State was worse in the last game I suppose.

The Spurs needed to give up Baynes to get LMA.

Blair would've struggled against Adams and Anus Cancer. Did you even see what Gasol and Bynum did to the original Turd Towers tandem of Blair and Bonner?

And CoJo will be murdered by Westbrook no matter how good he is defensively, plus he cannot run an offence nor score like Parker.

Truth is, the Spurs lost a lot of chemistry with so many new pieces, and LMA and Kawhi are not truly elite 1v1 players to make up for the offensive shortfall.

Simmons I keep wondering about since Manu was so ineffective.

I even wore my Manu jersey to Sushi Zushi on game day to no avail

There are legit cases to be made for the impact of Cojo, Rasual Butler, and MAYBE Baynes (probably wouldve been picked apart in the pick and roll like Boban)

In the old days, the Spurs even ran a Triple Towers lineup that featured Duncan, Robinson and Purdue. They absolutely owned the boards.

CoJo will be destroyed by a freak like Westbrook. You need a quick and strong defensive wing for that job.

Butler would've helped, but that ship has already sailed.

And Baynes would've been a good counter to Adams' physicality. It'll be like watching a rugby match between the two.

Man... Tim Duncan in his hey day would have gotten OKCs bigs all in foul trouble.

That used to be weapon for us... Sigh.

Not really- Against Kanter he would have been better than anyone Spurs had. Uncertain about Adams. Blair mopped the floor with Tiago in the 14 playoffs. His Advanced stats in the post season are far and away better than Tiago. And you love Splitter

Blair is no longer an NBA level talent. Hasn't played a meaningful minute in the NBA since the playoff series of Dallas v spurs a few years ago.

It's like he tried to use the rest of his NBA talent in that series to get revenge on the spurs. With no acls his nba lifespan was going to be short. Its over for him. Blair sucks. Deal with it.

You need centers with length and are quick on their feet in the new NBA.

The problem here is that Duncan and West are both slow footed. The Thunder consistently drove into the lane with barely a contest.

The problem with Baynes is that while he might be good against an Adams/Kanter type of player, we saw how he was destroyed by Jordan and Blake in the Clippers series.

The second problem with Baynes is you would have to be an absolute lunatic to match his 3 year contract he got with Detroit

If we had Baynes or CJ we would not have had LA.

Could have moved Patty last offseason though it would have taken yet another domino to fall in place (instead of renouncing CoJo). But Mills had played with LMA before so might have done some recruiting.
