I think udrih will be an impact more offensively and sato will be more for his defence, but overall, i would have to say beno

I don't think Sato will get that many minutes this season with Manu, Bowen, Barry, and Brown. Of course, Beno might not get much playing time behind Parker and Barry, but I think he'll still get more and do more.

but i think barry will be a shooting guard. i think he might start with tony parker and manu come off the bench like turkey did last year. so that might give sato and beno some time. sato might even sub for bowen or brown.

If Udrih pans out he will get the PT.

I'm not even sure that Sato will make the squad.

So I say, Udrih.

I think Sato is a project -- they'll probably keep him at least one year if he grasps the system in training camp. He reaching height of a 6'6" player, so he should be of use.

Reach of a 6'6" guy?

Sato's standing reach is just 1/2 and inch shorter than Luke Jackson's for instance, and he's 6'7" in shoes.

His wingspan and standing reach are fractionally larger than those of Dwayne Wade, so that may be instructive. I think wingspan really helps a shorter player to get steals; an offensive player may judge a defender's reach by his height and the short height/long wingspan defender may take advantage of such an underestimation in playing the lanes or recovering after being beat off the dribble.

If his positioning is good, I see no reason why Sato can't guard most of the twos and many of the threes in this league. To say nothing of his being able to switch off onto PGs when Barry is playing the point.

That would make it twice the wingspan of Kevin Willis, then?

Beno.

I'd hope that Sato makes the team. We've heard so much about his upside, and we probably have an expendable spot to use. Can't hurt to let him learn.
