Yes he did. He was the anchor of one of the best defensive teams in history.

Too bad then that it's not the "associated with good defense award".

He only played 1536 minutes this season, and the Spurs notably triumphed over the Golden State Warriors in a game Duncan didn't start then only played eight minutes.

Just to adress a few issues people seem to have.

I dont really have any problems with the big selections. Jordan was crucial for LAC season minus griffin. He's a more valubale offensive tool though.

-Hassan Whiteside is a shitty post defender and can really be lazy sometimes but his shotblocking prescene forced numerous teams to look for a different source of offense. He has a legit argument but I wouldnt pick him over Gobert (despite injury).

-Jimmy Butler is a reputation choice. Mostly casual mainstream wrtiers who dont really watch the game. No reason for him to be choosen above Green, Caldwel Pope, or even thompson for that matter or winslow if he qualifies but hes listed as a frontcourt player.

- George has been a shitty inconsistent defender the whole year. Reputation choice. Crowder, Aminu have been two of the best SF/PF awesome versatile defenders this year. No reason for them not to be there except for losing out on restablished reputation. Even Whiteboy Hayward was more consistant defensively.

- Some people have issues with Paul. Hes been the defensive player for LA this year though

- Avery Bradley had some mosnter defensive games but he was so shitty 50% of the time. Just played great defense against the right offensive player in a televised game.

Without Positions, the top 10 most impactful defensive players in the regular season imo.

1. Leonard
2. Green
3. Millsap
4. Crowder
5. Gobert
6. Paul
7.Green
8. Aminu
9. Deandre
10. Winslow

Whitesides team was better defensively with him off the floor for the first 40 games. Butler hasn't played D since he started becoming more of an offensive threat 3 seasons ago.

All the more reason GMs, Coaches, and Players should be voting. Not some mediot hacks.

You mean to tell me Paul Milsap > Unibrow defensively? GTFO. I'd be pissed if I'm Unibrow.

frankly it's not even a competition, millsap has been about ten times better this season, but i wouldn't expect you to know that...
