Would love to get Noel, but I don't know if we can fetch anything remotely interesting for 76ers..Wish Brett Brown was their GM....

Mills diaw too
I think Diaw will be out of the league soon after he gets jettisoned by the Spurs unless he signs for the Warriors..Imagine his shape playing for a bottom dweller at this stage of his career :lol

Best that we should hope for is that such a trade is large enough to eventually allow the Spurs a decent opportunity to snag something good, kinda like how the Melo trade let Dallas get Corey Brewer (yes, that was good, considering the contract he got at the time).

Noel at least has some power to determine where to go, since he can agree to sign a reasonable extension with the team of his choice. While his team can't lose him for nothing, they can risk having to give him a GIGANTIC contract if he goes to restricted free agency. Just spit-balling, his max is $109M/4, and that's insane for what he's currently able to bring.

Lakers need to be on the horn ASAP trying to swap Russell for one of PHI bigs.

Noel hasn't live up to the hype at all and he's a china doll. With his size and athleticism it's criminal to only be getting 8 boards and 1.5 blocks a game.

Well, with the way all those beauftul flowers have room to blossom in Philly, it certainly does stand out.

I mean everyone talks about the red flags Oden had, and Noel's are way worse. I think he missed a year and a half of HS ball. He missed the season his year at Kentucky. Now he is the guy who might give you 65 games in the NBA in a reasonably healthy year.

Still, even if we don't want him we could get involved in a multi-team deal to get some athletes.

All of our flotsam won't get us any of them. I agree that all we can hope for is that there is enough movement of players packaged through other teams that we end up snagging someone who can help us.
In other news the Knicks are looking to acquire a late 1st rounder. Kyle O'Quinn anyone?

Would instantly be the best Kyle on the team.
If RC drafts another dud like Anderson, might as well.

For them, that's garbage.
The Spurs can only offer garbage so from a Spurs fan's perspective, it makes total sense. Bundle up all the shit players you don't want on the team and ask for their best player/prospect/highest upside potential player in return. Then, make up some silly excuse why those laughable scrubs would benefit the other team to justify your moronic claim.
One day, if the Spurs ever actually stop stockpiling garbage, they might actually have an asset worth trading for.

I blame Pop. Tries too hard to prove that he can pile a bunch of shit and win. Overplaying scrubs, giving Kyle more than 1 minute of playing time instead of making him fetch Gatorade, benches Kawhi and LMA so they can be well rested for training camp, etc
Besides Tony and Bruce, Prime Tim Duncan always had pathetic players around him.

There are probably less than 13 players from his draft that are better than he is, so simple statistics say that he's a lottery talent.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but wouldn't you go after Okafor and not Noel?
I'm not a big fan of Okafor's game at all. Think he was the epitome of "empty stats" this year. His biggest strength is his post game, a skill that's becoming less and less valuable in today's league (unless you're a Diaw/Gasol-esque passer, which he isn't). He's an awful defender and a mediocre rebounder. He doesn't have a very reliable jumper and because of this he's practically worthless without the ball in his hands. Granted, he's still only 20 years old. He could certainly improve on a lot of these things, but regardless, I'd lean towards Noel over Okafor.
Don't think either of them are realistic targets though. Philly will either want a top 10 pick or an established all-star caliber player...we don't have either (obviously Kawhi/LMA aren't being traded).

If the rumor about Boston being interested in Okafor at the deadline was true, then they could do worse than a Okafor - for Boston's 3rd pick trade. Boston may need to add a little something but they have a ton of picks anyway.
