Parker might have the perspective on youth, that the spurs need. He's one of the few times the Spurs got it right by just putting the talented kid on the roster. draft and stash blows!

Even if he doesn't do a great job, that's no knock on him. There are maybe 10-15 players in the entire league that would be fit to be a coach, let alone a GM.

LOL the old you have to be an NBA player to know how to play basketball. There are probably 10 players in the league right now with any type of sound basketball intelligence.

Architecture isn't rocket science either, but I'm betting you couldn't build a skyscraper if you had all the tools laid out in front of you.

There is far more to basketball than the average fan ever could hope to appreciate. NBA coaches don't work 60-80 hours a week out of their own good will. They do it because the sport is complex and evolving.

I mean, shit, if it's so easy, why aren't you out there on the court? Coaches at the D1 level and above make millions.

Basketball's not architecture either. There are some fourth graders who could make decent GMs.

It's a good system to be in. I'd love to be in it, making millions. Oh well.

And yet you aren't. Why is that? You just stated that it's an easy job that you can clearly make millions on.

Huh. Weird. It's not too often you see such a clear example of the Dunning-Kruger effect in action.

Supply and demand, dude. Not everyone can be in position. That doesn't mean there aren't many qualified to do that job. Your argument is just lame. In fact, I've seen plenty of sh** GMs that I could do better than. You should just step into the world and understand that things don't operate fairly or perfectly.

:lmao Dunning-Kruger effect

This isn't a case of me saying I have such great skills per se, btw. I'm not claiming I could be a great architect or doctor or lawyer (without years of training). I'm telling you that being a basketball GM is not the high end work you think it is. Yes, it's an awesome position to have; but plenty of morons have attained it (some have even done okay).

if the spurs manage to trade up one spot in the 20's of a draft, Gobert is a lifetime Spur. ...Well except that he'd still be in France.

The problem with Tony Parker................................(fill in the blanks)....................

Parker has released a French hip-hop album, opened a nightclub, launched a clothing line and co-directed an autobiographical documentary, among other things. His next venture: becoming a featured figure in an ongoing web series produced by Sina Sports, China’s leading digital sports media platform (http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/spurs/article/Spurs-Tony-Parker-joins-Chinese-web-series-NBA-7545615.php). Parker joins a cast that includes Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, former NBA All-Star and current Detroit Pistons assistant coach Tim Hardaway and Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey. They will each have their own web channel.
