If you believe that Ali didn't touch lives or represent something greater than "slipping punches" then you truly are simple minded. Ali, Abdul-Jabbar, Jim Brown, Bill Russell and a few other Black athletes were honestly the voice of "the people" beyond athletics. They used their platform to help lead the community through the Civil Rights movement.
