The only way I see a conor win is if he develops nate's level cardio, which I don't think is possible in the time he had. More interested in the co-main honestly...

I think the biggest change in this fight: Connor will get a full camp training for a 170 lbs. fight.

So you think he's not gonna gas in a 5 rounds fight at 170?
ace3g
08-10-2016, 12:45 AM
He very well could but part of that is getting a full training camp at that weight for strength and conditioning.

Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz – so what has changed since the last time these two fought? Diaz has had a full training camp, yes, but McGregor has also had time to get accustomed to 170 lbs. Why will the outcome this weekend be different from March’s outcome? Because McGregor is a madman, and will simply not let himself lose. He wants to prove that he can beat Nate, and he will in the 3rd by TKO.
Anthony Johnson vs. Glover Teixeira – two good wrestlers? Check. Two powerful overhands? Check. I know Glover is a granite chin, but only DC has really been able to survive Rumble’s blitz so far. However, when things don’t go his way, Johnson get’s complacent. If this is a fun fight, Johnson wins by KO. If this fight sucks, Glover takes the decision. Let’s root for a fun one and a 2nd round knockout
Rick Story vs. Donald Cerrone – I’ll be honest here, this pick is a little heart over head. Story is the bigger fighter, a powerful wrestler, and can throw heavy hands. While Cerrone did beat the bigger Cote in his last fight, Story is the younger, better version. It’ll be tough for Cowboy, but I believe that his newfound welterweight career continues successfully with a back-and-forth decision victory.
Hyun Gyu Lim vs. Mike Perry – I might be a little biased here, as Lim is seriously one of my favorite fighters to watch. At 6 foot 3, he is a massive welterweight, and he uses that size beautifully to throw knees at his opponent’s face every chance he gets. Perry has some serious power, but he is still very young in the fight game. Lim by 2nd round KO.
Tim Means vs. Sabah Homassi – Means has been a bit of a run lately, seemingly finishing opponents left and right. Homassi, on the other hand, has a tendency to be finished in his losses, and took the fight on only 2 weeks notice. Means by 2nd round TKO.

I think if Conor is head hunting again he will gas again. He is saying he wants to end it in the 2nd like Nate did to him. The trouble with those Diaz brothers, chins of iron and cardio for weeks..

He should defend the belt at 45 VS Aldo. Aldo rebounded against Edgar and that fight now again has huge marketability.

Round 3 almost turned into round 2 of the first fight, Conor got saved by the bell. I am glad he made the adjustment and went for the leg kicks in this fight. Also glad on the knockdowns he had on Diaz, he let him back up, no point in risking getting trapped in a sub.

Thought McGregor was done at the end of the third. Props to him, it was obvious losing was out of the question for him no matter what. Didn't like the running away shit but apart from that, legendary fight.

Cormier went down but then managed to survive. Can he do it twice? And more importantly, can Jon survive it too?

Conor looked like he was going to finish the fight in the 1st and 2nd. But he was very worried about his gas tank. Looked done end of the 3rd, but showed big heart in the 4th. Just a classic fight.

Rumble truly is the Tyson of the UFC. You must get through one hell of a storm. But if you can, he can be beat. Rumble lacks heart. He is one hell of a frontrunner though.

Prior to the card tonight, Ariel was saying due to logistics and security they were not going to have a post fight presser. I think they are still having individual interviews for the media.

Ariel Helwani @arielhelwani (https://twitter.com/arielhelwani) 27m27 minutes ago (https://twitter.com/arielhelwani/status/767224050888249344) Reminder: no formal post-presser tonight. Each guy up alone. Cowboy up first. Kinda Olympic style. I actually like it a lot.
Ariel Helwani @arielhelwani (https://twitter.com/arielhelwani) 10h10 hours ago (https://twitter.com/arielhelwani/status/767082842878730240) At UFC 200, the post-PC was held in a tent. Apparently there isn't a good-sized room at T-Mobile for something like that yet.
Ariel Helwani @arielhelwani (https://twitter.com/arielhelwani) 10h10 hours ago (https://twitter.com/arielhelwani/status/767082632949538816) Re: no PC tonight via a UFC official: "Media will still get access to athletes as usual. (It's due to) logistical and security purposes."
Ariel Helwani @arielhelwani (https://twitter.com/arielhelwani) 10h10 hours ago (https://twitter.com/arielhelwani/status/767079022928900096) From UFC PR: there will not be a formal post-fight PC tonight. Instead, select main carders will be made available in scrum format post-202.

Is it just me or does Nate Diaz sound like he has been hit a billion times in his head? He sounds like he has pre Alzheimer's. Dude better stop before he is eating dinner out of a straw.

I feel sorry for the guy in this respect. He grew up raised to fight, it's basically all he knows yet he really does not like it anymore, he is just very good at it. There was a story about him constantly roused up by his older brother to fight so that the brother might deem the opponent worthy. Diaz is on automatic when put into the situation , he does not give an inch. He is in incredible shape. It might be part of his ability to keep going. He is clearly slower than Connor, he just has to survive long enough till the slow down to his level. This will probably be true with most of his opponents from now on. (I hope there are not many more)
This guy is really very straightforward. Tough life. Fight and then party. He will not make it past 60 and he's gonna hurt every morning in 5~10 years. I think he knows it. He has obviously matured a lot... Backing out of this latest fight for more money at the appropriate time.
My take. The guy is real. I don't think he wants anything to do with a normal life right now, while protecting people close to him that can't handle seeing him get beat up.

Just saw the fight, a draw would have worked. But, if we had to have a winner then it would be Conner.
Great fight~
Smart move not wanting to get on the ground with Diaz on the behalf of Conner.

I agree, however Connor grew immensely with his two fights against Nate. He was steamrolling at 145 before, and he's a much, much better fighter now. What are Aldo's chances realistically?
