This is not the best team of all-time, regeardless of what happens from here on out. They'll have the single season record but they're more like the Celtics in '08 than the '96 Bulls. Not bad company either way, as they both rang. Let's see if they hold on.

The Warriors pre-Curry injury were the greatest team of all-time, tbh..

When your best player is playing on one leg, obviously there will be slippage..

remember 2014? spurs dropped a game before 3 more beat downs. You don't make these kind of threads after just one game. Cavs haven't shown anything today that makes me say, oh yeah they are better.

Oh, no argument there. The Spurs in Games 3, 4, and 5 of the 2014 Finals entertained us with some of the greatest basketball ever played. What a beatdown! :hat

They were also blown out in games 3/4 to OKC, and needed OKC to play conservative ball in order to win game 6 and the series. The GOAT type of team doesn't get punked around like that and go down 3-1 and need that kind of luck in an elimination game OR EVEN BE IN AN ELIMINATION GAME AT ALL! The Warriors should have gone 16-1/16-0 and dominate the entire postseason. The GOAT team doesn't fail to win a game 3 in every series of the playoffs that year either.

Yeah, I was totally wrong about the Sharks. They were the hot team, but their balls shrank in the SCF. I hate the Pens, but they are the better team in this series.

As an aside, this will be the first time they close it out at home in 4 tries. Bizarro.

they are not the best team of all time considering the fact they finish the rs only a few g ames ahead of the spurs

hence td took 2-3 weeks off and never recovered the first half of season form to close out the 2nd half and it went downhill for him in the playoffs

the gap couldve been closer if pop didnt play around with his roster

this season is like the season 12/13 when heat put on a 25 winning streak in the 2nd half of the season while the spurs also had a 19 game winning streak, all talk was on the heat, but the spurs handled their shit out west like a boss untill some pos decided other things in the finals

The Warriors have been weakened by the OKC series, I think that series brought their confidence down a lot. Curry averaging 16 ppg in the Finals, Thompson averaging 12 ppg in the Finals. Pretty weak.

What about when they were down 3-1 to a team not named the Spurs (the only team with a record similar to theirs)? No matter which way you look at it, they aren't the best team of all-time, though they are up there.

Both losses the 96 Bulls had in those finals were by double digits, including a 20 point loss.

After the series was already over. Plus, they lost to a team that, as historic as the Bulls' season was, only lost 8 fewer games. The Sonics would have had the best record in the league most years in NBA history.

Honestly, my trolling answer from earlier aside, they've had a comically easy run in the past 2 playoffs, tbh..

During this year's run, the highest-ranked defense they went up against has been the 10th ranked Cavs:lol

To be fair, historically great teams generally face shitty competition, which is typically the reason a team will look so dominant in relation to the others..nobody will remember the Warriors competition, though, they will only cite the wins and rings, and rightfully so, that's sports..

Please, I'm here saying the same thing, they've almost lost as many games in the playoffs as they did the entire regular season. They lost a game to the Rockets :lol, Steph Curry or not (they proved they can be just fine without him) when the Rockets tried their best to give it away. They lost a game to the Blazers after getting them as a gift over the injured Clippers. The Thunder choked, which is the only reason they're still playing (and not just because they were up 3-1, they should have won Game 6).

They will have zero sweeps and I know Steph being injured is a factor but this is not the best team of all-time. They're probably in the top 15 though.

No one thinks the 67 win 2000 Lakers were better than the 56 win 2001 Lakers. Going down 3-1 to OKC ended any reasonable talk of this Warriors team being one of the all-time greats.
