I couldn't get the game on TV out here, but I listened to part of it on the radio. The Saints radio announcers were none too pleased with the San Antonio Saints banner some fans were holding in the end zone seats.

The fans sounded loud, and I loved the DUECE yell (reminds me of when our fans yell BRUCE). For those of you who saw the game in person or on TV, how did San Antonio come across?

It rocked... They had a good wave going on in the 2nd quarter. I don't know why people whimped out on wave attempts in the 3 and 4th q's.

I got to see some dude slip and shoot a beer and pepsi in the air.. it landed on his head and several people. No one hurt but damn funny....

The fans did a terrific job - drove Losman crazy all day. It was good and loud.

My stupid binocular camera is not connecting.. it's loaded with pics... smashes on ground... Yea even tight ass took a camera even though he thought it was against the rules (me).

Proud of my fellow San Antonians for the noise we created today - I look forward to hearing it when we sell out the place.

The lower level corners were VERY empty... I'm not sure if those are seats available for sale (don't know why they wouldn't be) but that needs to be remedied. Fun time, hopefully the Dome folks make some necessary adjustments before next game... most notably, not cutting into Instant Replays to show us who is sponsoring them and then cutting out of them before we get to actually see the play!

City officials had hoped a sellout would help push San Antonio's case as an NFL-worthy area, but there were large sections of empty seats.

Well it is certainly a true statement, especially those corners. Having huge sections of empty seats on the lower level doesn't look too great on national TV.

True. I'm guessing those corner sections were the ones that were being held for a while. Because only one of the four corners (the one we were in) was full at all.

That being said, the Dome was still pretty full .. more than I thought it would be actually. And it was damn loud; fans did a great job cheering on the Saints.

Caught an interview with Deuce on NFL Primetime, said he was really happy with the fan support and with how loud we managed to get. Props to the 58k of us who made it out.

Whoever is number 22 on the Saints did an awesome job getting the crowd into it early on .. from the opening kickoff. He was really really pumped.

Props to the 58k of us who made it out.

So attendance was 58,000? Not bad. I'm a bit surprised it didn't sell out though.

I wonder what they average at the Superdome? I bet 58,000 would be a good crowd in New Orleans.

It was loud all right. I just wonder how loud can we get if the place sold out. Anyway, it was loud enough to throw Buffalo for a loop, and that's all that matters.

Overall, I had so much fun. And we get to do it again in two weeks!!! :hat

I wonder if the Saints games will motivate the fans at Spurs games to get loud during regular season games.

i dont know why the corners were so open and it sux for the dome but it was awesome beacuse you could stretch out and sit where you wanted (front row is where i moved up to). i was really sitting on the last row of the section next to the courner but the ticket checker lady let me sit in the corner just by flashing my lower level ticket and i sat where i wanted.

btw which section were you in kori?

That was from the Associated Press....although I did crack a smile when I drove past the Alamodome on the way to work, when I saw the empty sections, my first thought was that people were still walking in. As the game went along and saw the empty sections, I was a bit disappointed. Even a bit more disappointed the fact that we didn't crack the 60,000 mark (58,688 was the reported figure). Although I'm certain the Atlanta game will sell out, I'm beginning to think the Detroit game will the the lowest attended game in the three game set.

I do hope for a 60,000 turnout for the Detroit game.

I dont know how true this is but I heard that at least two of the corner sections were not sold and thats why no one was in them.

Plus did you see Ernie Conwell say that the Saints werent used to being cheered like that. Bet that made LA-based Saints fans happy to hear.

Kori, I also noticed Thomas right away, he loved the reaction he got! Towards the end of the game another Saints player (don't remember who) sort of bowed down to the fans in the end-zone.

Did they already sell out the dome parking for the Atlanta game? I can't find it on TicketBastard. Am I just challenged?

I was very happy with the result. For those corner sections to not be filled points to some kind of obvious reason behind it. I didn't sit there but I noticed that sections 307 to 311 or so were very filled and very loud! San Antonio did pretty good for not having the benefit of season ticket holders, corporate support and games arranged off the fly. Not every NFL game sells out. So that San Antonio didn't sell 7000 seats is token.

I just saw JT the Brick say he felt it had a playoff atmosphere. :smokin

Over 150,000 so far have been sold.

I don't think a lot of people have pictures because they put out the word that no cameras would be allowed.

I had so much fun yesterday.That was the first NFL game that I was able to go to, and it exceeded my expectations..I was in section 101 and the place was rocking.If Saints players aren't used to having fans cheer for them, they are welcome to set up here permenatley as far as I'm concerned.We would love to have them!

I'm Very proud of San Antonio's football savy fans. I doubt that there is any non NFL city in the country (L.A. included) that would have given the Saints that kind of "Home Field" advantage. We knew just when to get crazy loud (Bills backed up against their end zone, 3rd and 4th downs, etc), we knew just when to shut up (Brooks audibling etc), and when to boo the damn refs. It was fanfuckingtastic.

to those who gripe and complain that we don't have an NFL team, you can blame it on the fact that we didn't sell this thing out. We have a small arena for big event and there is no excuse regardless of who the saints were playing. Yeah, it was short notice, but there should have been people lined up out the door. We want a team here and we need to show the NFL that. Look what Mexico City did last night for the two worst teams in the NFL?!?!?! Get with the program people! I don't want to live in a one horse town forever!!!

Don Criqui on TV said that when the bills we backed up and almost had that safety....ihe said it was the loudest building he has EVER been in. It as pretty loud in TV too.
