View Full Version : Spurs: Spursfans - would you trade a 6th ring for having two of the 5 as repeats?

SpursforSix

Was thinking about this if they could do it right now. I think 5 is better than 4 that included a repeat. But I think if they had 6...I'd rather have 5 and the back to back at least once.
Or maybe not since #6 would really underline the longevity of this run.

No a repeat it's worth like 1/10 of a whole ring. A. Three peat is worth half a ring.

Kind of fucking retarded question is that? :lol

Americans sport fans have problems, tbh.

They would rather have less championships as long as they got b2b in some of them; and they, somehow, believe that making the finals is worst than losing before it. :lmao

i wouldn't even trade the years that the title came to make them repeats :lol.. repeating just strongly lowers the value of the title from an enjoyment standpoint.. it's only good for losers wanting to chestpump themselves

Next up for Lakers fans, would you give up the second repeat in order for Kobe to have one alpha ring, or are you fine with two gasol alpha rings?

It's just Lakers fans. They've been fixated on this repeat nonsense ever since Red Auerbach trolled them.

Even though the Spurs never repeated winning championships are always fun. All 5 championship runs were pretty exciting plus as crazy as it sounds I think if the Spurs won back to back they probably would have become complacent and the competitive fire would have gone out. The negative part of going back to back is teams usually burn out and become irrelevant afterwards.

They funny thing is, nobody really cares after 14, and yet you came in a kept repeating it over and over again, just to get a reaction, not realizing it that people aren't really bothered by the shtick itself, but want to laugh at you at how horrible your logic is, and kept reminding you what a hypocrite you are.

And there you are, repeating the same shtick, reminding everyone of your own hypocrisy, while acting more smug and thinking you are an effective troll.

Cully, I have nothing against you, so I just want to point it out to you. Think of me as that guy in high school who points out to that dork that he's really uncool, so stop thinking he is. It's cruel, I admit, but something just has to be said.

& you have 6, after a fashion. That 1st 5th + the 2nd 5th. It's a Pete & Repeat, went down to the Picket Wire River. Pete fell in,,,and drowned. Repeat, he pulled him out, and set him against a barrel cactus, big fucker, kind of pinned him against it so he'd remain upright. Everybody strained at the ropes they'd strung for a look. From distance he looked okay, so, they started sellin' your shit, right on the boob tube.

But in essence there is only one true 5th! The other 5th divorced us and walked out on the court that night. BTW if they sold the 2013 champ stuff I want to see one out there! They were ready to BUT SOLD NONE! Instead it ended up in another country where some kid has no clue the 1st 5th walked away from us Cub....

Repeating doesn't mean shit and anyone that claims it does has an agenda. All that matters is that you win and how many times you win.

sexinthatsx

Having 5 rings within the past 16 years is a testament to how successful the Spurs are as a franchise. If Tim Duncan won 3 straight, he would have probably pulled a Jordan and joined the swim team with Michael Phelps or something.

Worse, if the team repeated or 3-peated, Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili wouldn't have stayed together for their whole career and blow the team up like all the repeating teams in the past.
