Golovikin doesn't do what he does without absorbing a little bit of punishment. His chin will be tested. Should be a great fight.

Fuck, I was excited about this until I saw the yahoo article where De La Hoya was saying September 2017.

Canelo hoping 3G loses first so he won't have to fight him.

Canelon is a hard puncher , but GGG I feel is one tough nig, he hasn't really fought anyone that's a big name yet, but I'm pretty sure he KO's canelo in under 6.

2017??? :lmao so lame..

Makes sense, though..both guys are big with hardcore fans and some casual fans like myself, but they'll need a lot of work to get on Pacquiao-level name recognition, let alone Floyd..

Don't think Boxing will ever get a paquiao level or Floyd level commercial boxer..I think way too many Casuals have quit on Boxing to care.

I agree on all points. I also agree that the wildcard is probably that Canelo is the hardest puncher that GGG has faced. He might want to incorporate some defense into his strategy.

That's a ways out. Boxing definitely doesn't have the momentum to carry it for the year plus. What is the biggest fight? Ward vs. Kovalev?

That's the best, but there should be a few good fights before that. I'm interested in Postol vs Crawford, just because Postol looked so good against Matthysse.

To me, Chocolatito, Kovalev, GGG, Lomakchenko and Crawford are all must-see TV.

Odds should be good in this fight. The fight of the year will be Serg vs Ward in Nov. I pray they make Ward an underdog.

Yeah , I mean Ive seen triple take hits just to take them, but like we agree on Canelo's probably the hardest hitter he will face. I also hear rumors that Triple G has the toughest chin out of anyone in boxing. I just feel that Triple G can end anyones night in 1 hit. Im pretty salty over the fact that its going take so long for them to fight.

Probably yeah, unless GGG fights Ward at 160 ish, that could be a great fight in the meantime.

Canelo sells as well as Pacquiao does in 2016 b/c of his Messican fan base, he doesn't have compatriots competing for his market share.:lol

I somehow missed the month when I first read it. I agree with you. Fucking De La Hoya manages his business like he did his career. Badly.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if either of them fights anyone we've heard of in the next 15 months. This could bring a lot of the good matchups we've all been hoping for to a grinding halt.

oh crap

I agree with all but really pumped for that Crawford fight. Glad he's getting a big fight, but worried his PPV numbers will struggle since he isn't a huge name outside of hardcore boxing circles.

Yep. He's got a good chance to end it in spectacular fashion. If he just dominates for 12 rounds it will probably hurt him.

No one will give two shakes of a rat's ass in a year's time. One of the two meat heads will lose and this fight will lose whatever little luster it has lol

Lol @ golden boy on this one , part of me thinks that canelo is buying time to duck him. Triple G needs to fight anyone who is willing to fight him in his weight class , he's 34 and I want to see more of him. He is def my fav boxer atm.
