Damn..Really surprising.

I haven't seen Messi be this emotional after a loss..crying etc.

So young too..28 years old.

Top 10 of all time for sure, but thisnis why hes not better than someone like R9 imo..

R9 was injured.for like a year. He couldnt.walk..but he came back and won the wc after a tough finals loss..in the process becoming the best world cup scorer at that time.

You dont build legacies with club competition alone. Doesnt work that way in soccer.

It's a good thing Messi didn't have a Lebron "Decision" moment.... Why aren't more people calling messi a quitter

I think he just made an emotional statement...no chance in fucking hell he misses the world cup in 2 years tbh. But yes...missing the penalty kick and quitting was super beta. Ref also fucked the game up tbh

He's got 3 Champion League titles, right? And for my money, that's the highest non-World Cup achievement a player can have. I don't take "League titles" that aren't won in playoff format seriously (lol you can win the EPL on something as fuckin' retarded as goal differential).

Maybe the Argies can chime in, but it doesn't seem like Messi's national team was ever stacked in the same way Spain and Germany's were.

Missing a penalty kick is a huge choke, though. To be fair, soccer is such a stupidly designed sport that it's a shame important matches have to come down to mini-games, but it is what it is, I guess.

3 champions league title dont mean shit, while bale has 2 after transferring to a team built around him...

Does it really make a difference? He scored 0 goals in 3 finals for Argentina. I say he unofficially retired from national team duty a long time ago.

Scoring against the likes of Nigeria, Iran etc. hardly counts :lol

Such a travesty. If he goes through with it, retiring from the NT at the age of 29, midget really disgraced himself and his country and should be exiled tbh.

The only situation more pathetic than this was Jim retiring from the NT in his prime at the age of 28 after winning a shit stained medal :lol

Even Bartolo Colon at age 43 could have waddled out there and made that penalty kick.

Nah bro.

National team achievements are always above the.champions league.

World cup
Continental cup

Champions league

That's why I always lol when these argies proclaim him as a top 5 player. He isnt really...Someone like R9 has done significantly better.

Oh and Argentina is more than talented enough. Mesi Has played with Star Players...Riquelme, Masche, Aguero, Higuin, etc..

These are actual star players..heck they have star players that arent even called up to the NT. They're stacked but they play terrible together.

Sure he's a goat but not the GOAT

The GOAT does not miss penalties in the Final and does not go scoreless in 3 straight finals :lol

pretty sure if a goalkeeper was the goat, he'd go scoreless in 3 straight finals.
