Is it weird that 6 never hurt me nearly as bad as 0.4 did? I've watched 6 a dozen times since it happened . . . the pain is there but it almost feels more surreal than anything.

0.4 tore my guts out. Can barely watch it.

For me it is just part of the story that leads to the 2014 title for the Spurs.

Oh, Gee!!

The 16th was pretty crappy

As much as I love the Spurs...it's still just a sport for entertainment :lol If you're still "hurting" 3 years after the fact...well, that seems pretty ridiculous to me.

It was shitty watching highlights and hearing about it that following offseason. Once the 2014 season came around I was mostly over it. Once we won in 2014 I didn't give a shit anymore. Now I can see highlights of that game and appreciate it for what it was: one of the best basketball games ever. Yeah it's shitty that it happened but if we won in 2013 there's a good chance we don't get the historic 2014 run, so it all worked out in the end.

You are far too reasonable. :lol I have to admit I was not too rational in the hours and days following the big loss in 2013, but I realized we would see a very determined group the following year win or lose. Luckily we won. That was a long shot people and anyone complains about '13 after June 15, 2014 had better get a life!

Really looking forward to next year and finding out if Manu and Tim do a victory lap! Go Spurs! :flag:

Like Tim said in his interview after winning in 2014, winning a championship made the previous year 'okay'

thats how i felt. as soon as they won in 2014, 2013 was just part of the journey.

The backdoor sweep from The Thunder pissed me off more because i felt we couldve won it that year as well.

That's the worst feeling that I've ever had as a sports fan, but yeah...2014 made up for it. 6 and Manu's foul in 2006 were just awful. Those are the only 2 true "missed opportunities" IMO

0.4 was tough to swallow, but that 2004 team just imploded and choked hard. Not sure if they would've beaten the Pistons that year anyway.

I told this story on another forum, but the spurs losing the title that year probably saved my life or a hospital visit. here is what I posted on another forum a day after losing game 7 in 2013

every day i leave class and ECU around 1115 am, stop by the mall and pick up me a slushie and head to walmart to pick up the same plate of food for 3 dollars and some change. it's a carolina bbq chicken with cheesesticks and corn. every day. today i was so tired from staying up late last night watching the game and posting on forums that after i left class, i went to the library to take a 4 hour nap. i woke up and saw all of these missed calls on my phone and messages asking if i were ok and where i was at. there was a dude that shot up walmart parking lot today. he shot someone at the Kellum law firm and headed to walmart parking lot and started shooting people. this type of thing doesn't happen in my city. never has this happened to the best of my kknowledge. i park in the same spot every day far away from the building so it's easier for me to leave. talk about fate...they say the victims are expected to live and that's a good thing. don't know the full details, but i heard someone was kileld at the law firm. don't now anything much really. police still have the parking lot entrance clossed off from the main highway at this point when i just drove by there 30 mins ago.

So there was something good that came from it for me. Btw, no one died..

Argentina is hurting now that's for sure. Of all the people to miss a PK, it's Messi. Wow, at least Manu delivered for his country and not just winning for the team that pays him...

If we hadn't won in 14 i would've been completely crushed but since we won in 2014 it's all good. It was unhealthy but i just pinned all my hopes and dreams on a 14 title to block out the loss, if we hadn't won, oh boy, i might be institutionalized lol

As a Lions and Tigets fan, any Spurs loss doesn't effect me that much. The night it happened was pretty shocking though.

Ahhhh, what a time it was.

Those 2 3's by Mills in the third followed by that Manu 3 to put us up about 20..."What an avalanche by San Antonio"

WHAT.A.TIME.

I said that on that night and meant it, still meant it. Everything else is gravy.

BTW OP 6th still hurts? How could 6th hurt when that would mean a 6th title? I would take it and smile :)

It will never ever hurt anymore, we donŽt have the historic run, with the impressive throwbacks performances of Tim and Manu in 2014 without 6th. So iŽll take it, is the best movie that we could ever write, and i think we can all asume that if we won in 2013, we would never have 2014. There is a reason while this team never repeated, it was never about the big three, but the others who have trouble staying commited.

Don't think I'd be bitter about 13 if we had lost with Duncan on the court. Taking out the best rebounder and a guy who has length to bother threes if he is drawn out there never made sense. Fucking Pop.
