the maple bacon ones were a close second.

sidecar donuts out here in the LA area. I would take these over VOODOO doughnuts from portland.

Sidecar is one of the better ones in the Southern California donut scene. I don't eat many. I do like the Strawberry Donut from The Donut Man.

Donuts are my #1 regretful food, tbh:lol

I eat one once every few months, and I literally always regret it immediately afterwards..the shittiest enticement:fulfillment ratio of any food IMO:lol

I've never ate a donut that made me say, "damn, this is a great donut".

Was in Denver about a month ago and passed up an opportunity to go to Voodoo Donuts. It wasn't explained to me very well what they were about.

There was this Mexican bakery on NW 24th that had the most amazing sugar donuts back in the 90s.

This place I remember on 24th made the same shit Mi Tierra does but way better. Not that Mi Tierra is bad, I love grabbing random shit from their bakery when I'm downtown (the food's nothing special though).

I was like 8 years old I didn't have any choice in the matter :lol We mostly ate breakfast there which was pretty good but like you said nothing special.

Went to Voodoo Donuts in Portland and it was thoroughly overrated. Same with a Dallas knock off version called Hypnotic Donuts that also gets rave reviews but isn't that good. Apparently these days a good donut means piling a bunch of Capn Crunch cereal or some other bullshit on top of the donut so that you can't actually taste the donut.

Not donuts but I had Jack in the Box's Portebello Cheeseburger. Guys, it was outstanding. Just blew my shorts off this afternoon. Honest to God it looked just like the commericials and tasted just scrumptious. I hated to see it end.

It was the best fast food food I've had since the early, early days of the Big Mac when they used to serve them in the Styrofoam cartons.

Plain ole sugar-raised for me. But I haven't had anything sweet for 4 years since being diagnosed with diabetes. It is so bad that when I took my colonoscopy and had to take that solution (that everyone else hates) it tasted so good that I just wanted more and more. This forum is so much nicer than the political forum.
