Free agents don't want to play for the Lakers? Tons of money and the Lakers still couldn't get a notable free agent. At least with Kobe, All Star caliber players grant the Lakers an interview.

"I've known Kobe for years, living out of Newport Beach," Aldridge told Yahoo Sports. "He knows my kids. I've seen him with his daughters. We've always had a cordial relationship. I was kind of mad about how it got spun around that it was him that I had problems with -- when actually he was the best part of it."

I've been saying that for a few years, tbh..Kobe wasn't as much of a problem as perceived, the Lakers downfall should be attributed to their antiquated front office more than anything..

I still can't believe so many people actually believe Jeannie Buss would be any better than her brother, though:lol..she's a clown..

Jerry Buss was a creepy old man that had the voice of a 12-year old girl, but at least he was a boss, tbh..

It's like Whitlock was saying: Kobe's narcissism and selfishness destroyed that franchise. Players around the league might not want to put Kobe on blast, but the proof is in the pudding. They're not going to the Lakers because they suck and are dysfunctional, and the Lakers suck and are dysfunctional because of Kobe.

It certainly doesn't help matters that the idiot Buss children are calling the shots, or that they have a fucking bartender as their scout. But at the end of the day, Kobe is the one who systematically destroyed that franchise. He's the one who ran off every coach he ever played for, ran off Shaq and Pau, ruined two "superteams" with his selfishness and ego, stole every dime he could from the organization, etc.

I said it when it happened...not signing Phil Jackson and going with D'antoni was the move we would regret 10 years from now. I remember all my Laker buddies laughing at me for saying that. But but D'antoni+Nash + Kobe and Dwight is a championship formula :lol. No...its not Phil that would fix this franchise but it was the mentality that was laid that day that destroyed the Lakers franchise...Jim Buss ego and legacy> than Lakers winning.

It has cost us severely..and yes signing Kobe to that garbage contract is a Jim Buss decision that destroyed our franchise further

Phil coaching via Skype was not going to turn that team around, tbh :lol

The Lakers should have just accepted that it was going to be a lost season, played out the string with Mike Brown, and then fired him after the season. They caved into the pressure from their moronic fans and selfish team-killing shooting guard, fired the coach and then immediately realized that coaching wasn't the problem.

Kobe destroyed it. No one wanted to play with Kobe. Now the Lakers are a house fire and no now wants to play on such a shitball of a team. In all fairness, the same attitude that killed the Lakers brought them rings too.
