He's a legend. He can retire if he likes. He's made every team better than they were, so kudos to the greatest "coach" ever.

yep..The greatest "turn-around-a-dumpster-fire-team" coach of all-time and best Basketball teacher ever...he's just not suited for the long haul/grind, hence Larry "next town" Brown..

NCAA faggots can suck ass.

Look the other way while ALL the majors cheat but come down on SMUs Larry.

If he wants a real challenge, he should be the head coach of the national team in some developing country or even a place like Japan. This came a bit sooner than I expected.

Dude is like 135 years old. Every year could be his last year coaching. SMU knew what they were doing when they hired him. Larry Brown knew the only way he could help that program become even remotely relevant was to break a few rules. That's how shit goes. I'm sure he already has job offers now if he wanted to coach again.

In a article from cbs he said that he was asking for a five year extension and smu balked. Sounds like he didn't quit per se but made a Dwayne wade type demand and took his service elsewhere. He's 74 .

Not sure how coaching works, if you get sick or retire doesn't that void the contract?
