Because they are retarded, this has been discussed for over a month lol Manu only gave a one year discount as most players did to get paid now, upstairs is suffering and they need to spin shit over and over again.

I seem to recall a month ago it was for $7 million, now it's $10 million, Mike.
Though I have a sneaking suspicion that it will end up being just under $8 million when all is said & done. This $10 million dalliance is just to aid the Spurs PR.

Cub, there is nothing to "take here." Paying Manu one year at 10 million means nothing. It doesn't count against the cap, therefore this contract doesn't "punish" us. It only punishes the Spurs pocketbook, which is flush anyhow.
If it were for 2 years, then you would indeed be justifying in having a grand ole time giving it to us.

Giving your The Decrepit namesake that $ trumps this by a jugful.
It literally doesn't matter how much they pay him unless he was willing to sign below his $5mm cap hold. $7 or $10 doesn't impact Spurs plans.
While minutes are limited, essentially every advanced metric grades him out as one of the best at his position. Unlike Kobe at the end.

Bullshit Thread, when Kobe signed that contract, his career averages were 25.46, 5.3 and 4.8. No matter how you round the numbers, they don't hit 26/6/6
The only time Kobe hit 26/6/6 in a year was 02-03 (30/7/6), 04-05 (28/6/6), and 12-13 (27/6/6).
To say the Lakers paid Kobe $48.5M for the 26/6/6 was like saying the Spurs paid Duncan $6.4M for 23/12/3//3, and you shouldn't have problems with that.

07-15-2016, 09:23 AM
It's official then, the Spurs are going to do farewell tours, say goodbye to the old guards, and rebuild. See how far they can take the Spurs through these rebuilds.
If teams pay for stats then a high scoring system should be the wealthiest around. Wins don't matter, nor does defense.
