I have a feeling timmy comes back sometime in March for one final run. His, " I can still play" had a bit of light and power when he said it. Somehow I got the feeling it's not quite over.:toast

Only if Durant and/or Klay Thompson tear ACLs in the Olympics.

This. If Timmy gets some German tuning on those knees in the offseason, some of the Beta Warriors blow their ACLs, and the Spurs are looking like they will lock up the #1 overall seed in the playoffs, Timmy might consider a return. Might.

Timmy won't pull a Brett Favre.

Well there is no law that says Timmy can't change his mind and return and play. Jordan did it, Magic did it. If he feels like playing again, fine, he can always retire again. Pretty sure the Spurs FO would welcome him back if he changed his mind.

^^^ This, that is not his style at ALL...
He never repeated though

And coming back now won't change that either, so he needs to just chill and be happy retired. He did a hell of a lot in 19 years tbh... More than most can fathom.

I think he's done. Once you make the initial decision it's much easier to stick with it. His body is worn and getting in NBA shape is no fun at 40. He's sounded happy with his decision and I don't think he has any regrets that would make him come back.

Getting his body back in shape would be impossible. Plus he's honorable, unlike dickbag Durant. Once he says something he'll stick to it.

We have one chance..

Timmy has to catch every Pokémon before the cutoff for playoff eligibility. :)

There is a chance Tim could come back if his knee were to start to feel much better. We'll see, I guess. For now, I'm just coming to terms that he's played his last game though.

So much disrespect to Tim as a competitor in here. If his knees were healthy he would certainly not fear playing these Warriors. This is the same guy who took out the Shaq-Kobe Lakers and then the Heatles. With that being said Tim is never coming back.

There is a waiver rules the NBA set. He cannot rejoin a team after he was waived within the season. That includes the team that waived him and in some circumstances when the team trades his contract then gets waived.

Neither did Bird, but 5 is 5. Shaq repeated and he has 4. So you'll take 4 over 5 just to win 2 in a row?

If one of our bigs go down with an injury, no doubt the chatter will start about bringing him back if it's late in the season. Something tells me Tim will be staying in shape, regardless if he doesn't plan on playing again in his mind.

That's true......if he already filed his retirement papers. Either way, I don't see him coming back.

I can't imagine it being in his nature to change this decision. He hasn't ended his career prematurely, no reason for him to come back except maybe as a coach.

He's gonna be on the beach motorboating Vanessa Macias. Done is done.

I'll gladly accept your $5.

If Timmy comes back in March, I've already won. I'll pay a lot more than $5 for that to happen.

Knock Derek Fisher's bitch ass off the #1 spot for most playoff wins? :lol

i actually think OP is brilliant. Timmy skipping as much of the regular season as possible is typical Spurs.

So Duncan can play for say, GSW or CLE this year but not SAS?

In a world of imagination where he wanted to tarnish his one team legacy, sure.
